This is a key role contributing to the overall success of the organization’s financial goals. While the main goal of the role is to provide forecasting support for Winthrop US, Synvisc, and legacy brands, the role will also be responsible for the development and systemization of a new forecasting system and tools that will permit visibility and action at the account level.
Primary responsibility of the role is to ensure accurate sales forecasts, perform detailed analysis to track brand performance and provide commentary to senior management for all aspects impacting sales performance. Additional responsibilities include:
Develop detailed analysis of external demand data by brand by channel to constantly challenge the accuracy and validate the consistency.
Develop demand based, account based and patient level forecasts for the supported products.
Lead change management throughout organization when new forecasting processes and data sources are analyzed, challenged and incorporated into sales forecasts.
Perform financial review for contracting and pricing analysis, calculate sales deduction % for actual and analyze actual sales deductions vs. projected.
Prepare insightful presentations to communicate assumptions, analysis and recommendations for various sales and financial analysis.
Increase operational efficiencies and leverage existing systems to automate reporting processes.
Continually develop business acumen relating to current and future trends, policies, practices affecting supported brands. In addition, develop knowledge regarding how strategies and tactics work in the pharmaceutical industry.
Perform financial decision support by integrating the three P’s (patient, physician, payer) into the forecast process and develop analysis outside of the forecast models in support of optimizing resource allocation and quantifying brand growth levers.
Ensure clear understanding across various stakeholders for demand evolution by proactively performing analysis to validate demand data, interacting with various data stakeholders (data management, market research and IMS) to understand possible deviations and effectively communicate adjustments / restatements to facilitate most accurate demand performance measurement.
Maintain interactions with incentive compensation, supply chain and contract assessment to ensure working knowledge of their processes to better support these departments relating to both forecasting and performance measurement.
Additional responsibility to design and project manage the implementation of a new, optimized forecasting tool.
Develop and systematize a tool that allows for visibility at an account-level and considers levels of supply, demand, ordering patterns and market driven events. The new forecasting model/system will allow the team to make real-time, actionable decisions and permit seamless updating of data.
Scope of organizational contacts:
Span of control includes the constant interaction with the Head of the marketing, brand teams, various members of Commercial Support, Business Intelligence, Sales Operations, Trade, Managed Markets, New Products, Pricing & Contracting Strategy, Medical Affairs, Corporate Controlling, Business Development.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Area of specialization: Finance, Economics, Statistics or Engineering
MBA Preferred
At least 5 years of experience performing forecasting, operational or market research analytics or similar experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience in generics business an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:
Analytic experience and/or forecasting marketed and new product pharmaceuticals, and / or Sales Deduction Analysis
Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong systems skills (Excel, preferably TM1, PowerPoint, various data and forecasting applications)
Self-motivating, must have the drive to work with a sense of ownership for the position and department, understanding of internal controls.
