We are looking for a Director of Technology Communications to lead strategic communications for our global connectivity, engineering, and infrastructure teams. This individual will be responsible for developing and leading a world-class communications function dedicated to showcasing Facebook's leadership in engineering and research as well as shaping the future of the technology industry via open communication and collaboration.
This role will involve partnering closely with senior technical leadership at the company; building and leading a team of exceptional communications professionals; and overseeing the execution of a range of high-impact communications programs.
This position will be based in Menlo Park, CA.
Responsibilities
Partner closely with senior technical leadership at the company to develop communications strategy and vision
Build and lead a team of exceptional communications professionals
Oversee and participate in the execution of a range of high-impact communications programs, spanning multiple markets
Engage with reporters, editors, and other influencers to showcase Facebook's leadership in engineering and research
Serve as a cross-functional leader within the Facebook communications team and the company as a whole
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree
15+ years of experience in communications
Experience with media relationships across tech, business, and consumer publications
Cross-functional leadership experience
Experience working with C-level technology executives
Experience managing teams across regions
Experience managing PR agencies, contractors, and other vendors
Experience working with Fortune 500 or AdAge 100 companies
Preferred Qualifications
Agency and in-house Communications experience
Experience working in the consumer or enterprise technology industries, or in the telecommunications industry
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
