The general purpose is to be a financial consultant to the respective business partner (Global Sales – DtC & Franchise) by giving recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making. This position supports and steers the business to achieve (financial) targets as well as the strategy based on the analysis of number indicators. This is supported by the creation of transparency about business performance through cost (-center) controlling, business controlling and eventually performance management (driving operational KPI’s).
Together as an integrated Brand & Sales Finance organization we provide our commercial business partner (Global Brand and Sales) with one shared view for strategic and financial decision making. Within Global Sales with the role of Converting Brand Desire into profitable and sustainable business growth by flawlessly executing our Global Brands and Sales strategies, we will support the enforcer team for Retail, eCom & Franchise in their Objective “… to accelerate growth through best branded shopping experience at all consumer touchpoints” and

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partnering:

Drive financial support and co-pilot with VP DtC the execution of DtC & Franchise Sales and Finance strategy and target setting on the following 4 strategic levers, premium experience, premium experience, omni-channel and people. Lead the financial control and performance of worldwide retail, eCom & Franchise Channel activities of adidas & Reebok consistently with Global Sales Strategy embedded in CTN Lead by example cross-functional collaboration with business partner from Global Sales DTC & Franchise to conduct the overall goal of finance aspiration for 2020 related to this specific channel. Drive the operationalization & follow-up within Global DTC & Franchise of strategic levers related to Change the Game Transformation of Global Sales Strategy Acts as a facilitator between Global (DtC finance & DtC Business Partners) and Markets key counterparts in Finance Acts as a central contact point for all finance topics related to the global Retail, eCom & Franchise team Leads and provides business insights relevant and accurate to ensure fact based decision for DtC business priorities, KPIs, R&O and overall performance including post mortems on outcomes Drive transparency and speed of business analysis for global Retail, eCom & Franchise ensuring relevant, accurate and standardized store analytics Identifies channel related biz opportunities across markets and ensure they are utilized Give recommendations and provide options to business partners on respective level for strategic invest /divest approach
Constantly challenges and drives growth and profitability across the Retail, eCom & Franchise store portfolio and ensures the financial targets are met further profitable growth by investment in projects with a positive EVA divest in unproductive assets: stores and markets with a weak market positioning with no prospect of profitable growth
Leads BPM and Store Life Cycle Process as best decision maker, ensuring consistency with expansion plan, store format/concept strategy, trade zone attack and best practice transfer across business Lead financial for Steering the Buy through Product Planning ensuring solid reporting framework, on-going tracking-reporting-recommendations based on current situation and action plan Drive omni-channel financial support through co-creation of KPIs framework, dashboard and run financial analysis & business cases Lead support of Sales Academy by creating KPIs and develop analysis related to people as major OOH drivers Maintains excellent communication streams and cross-functional collaboration with and with Global Brand and Sales Finance. Ensures DtC Finance is in compliance with all applicable group policies and local laws
People Management:

Evaluate and set up the organization with experience and expertise needed within given framework of the following broader functional areas, Retail, eCom & Franchise team. Recruit people consistently with the needed framework Set clear objectives for direct reports Manage, supervise and coach team members with clear operational, tactical and strategic guidance to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and best business partnering Create environment and development plan which enable team members to perform and to grow Build and anticipate succession plan
Innovation & Strategy:

Drive execution and implementation of Retail, eCom & Franchise strategies in alignment with the global Brand and Sales Finance team. Drive change by supporting strategic project in Global DTC & Franchise related to Change the Game Transformation of Global Sales Strategy and CTN. Drive continuous improvement of entire processes/systems and ensure that they are followed. Define new controlling concepts for Retail, eCom & Franchise and then drive and execute the aligned strategies on a global level Define and ensure sustainable implementation of an innovative KPI framework (e.g. BSC, financial/non-financial KPIs, Sales key drivers, cost ratios, sales per hour, etc.); ensure that they are followed beyond own area of responsibility Drive continuous improvement of entire performance processes/systems (ex: BPM, omni-channel…) in line with the strategic goals and key focus points for Store Operations and Visual Merchandising Take actions to secure Retail, eCom & Franchise part of the corporate targets Implement IPM logic when relevant to support CTN in DTC performance measurement
Reporting, Analysis and Expertise:

Recognised expert for Retail, eCom & Franchise Finance within the organization. Provide broad & deep knowledge in Retail, eCom & Franchise area, combining with broad knowledge of other areas (other industries, Brand, Omnichannel). Manage Projects for VP DtC& Franchise
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to coach, guide, manage, and develop a team Highly business acumen with broad and deep knowledge of retail business and understanding of external business drivers Comprehensive business understanding of processes and structure Ability to think and act tactically and strategically with the ability to develop innovative solution Excellent analytical skills in order to analyze complex issues and to improve processes and techniques Excellent finance skills and strong skills in building effective business plans/business cases Excellent communication and conceptual skills Ability to maneuver in constantly changing environment. High degree of stakeholder orientation; both the ability to see the customer's point of view and opinions of his/her own and ability prioritize appropriately Ability to operate cross-functionally Excellent communication skills in order to negotiate with internal parties with possible divergent interests and with different business areas Ability to work under high pressure and to deadlines Strong result orientation and pro-activity –hands on approach Proven ability to analyze complex issues and to lead improvement /define entire systems (Retail/Franchise Management Systems – SAP Retail, BI solutions) processes and techniques Strength in conceptualization, frameworking and facilitating techniques Advanced project management skills Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

University Degree in Finance or Tertiary Commercial education – MBA preferred Exposure: Finance / Business Analysis / Retail / Project Management Highly specialized level of business acumen Extensive depth of theoretical knowledge and organizational practice across several areas Experience of 14 years or more in of broad-based operational finance experience with progressive responsibility in industry leading companies Management Expertise: at least 8 years of leadership experience
