Job Description: • 2-minute read •
We're looking for a creative and experienced engineering leader to help us build next generation infrastructure that will be critical in connecting the next billion+ people in the developing world. Delivering personalized, media rich, interactive content is difficult in areas having underserved networks. We are investigating infrastructure for pushing content to mobile devices instead of having them pull. This will improve interactivity with more content pre-loaded and better use of networks by having content pushed during off peak hours. A re-architecture of our backend infrastructure to support the massive scale of 1.8 billion users is needed. The successful candidate will lead significant pieces of the effort. There are very few times a company has the need or ability to redesign its infrastructure making this a very unique opportunity. We are looking for an exceptional leader capable of delivering a mission of building infrastructure at a planetary scale. You will be highly technical in the general area of distributed systems, distributed storage and/or language runtime environments. You will be able to attract and assemble teams of the best and brightest engineers to deliver next generation infrastructure which enable product development.
