Director Publicity NBCUniversal Media Universal City

The Director Publicity will multi-task, interact and coordinate with talent representatives while also being responsible for weekly publicity status reports and other applicable documents. Exceptional communication skills at all management levels is crucial. On a daily basis, the individual in this position will be someone that can take initiative with minimal direction, have the ability to seek out information from various sources and have exceptional follow through.
Essential Responsibilities:
Generate and maintain publicity schedules, coordinate all talent travel accommodations and other arrangements for all publicity appearances, PA tours and press junkets
Work with our publicists to confirm offers and appearances for talent
Coordinate with talent reps to confirm TV appearances, print/online interviews and photo shoots
Create and maintain full publicity calendars on all film’s activities
Maintain print and broadcast highlights
Create and maintain talent availability memo
Manage and maintain budgets
Read early reviews and pull quotes in conjunction with Apprentice
Negotiate jet travel rates when applicable
Create and maintain publicity contact sheets
Create and maintain weekly publicity status reports and quote documents
Generate and manage information for filmmaker presentation decks
Interact with the various talent representatives and agencies to get publicity appearances completed
Correspond early on with talent reps on overall general publicity conversations and planning
Flexibility to maintain ever-changing schedules and itineraries
Availability to work screenings, premieres and press junkets
Availability to travel for press junkets, premieres and conventions
Must be extremely detailed and organized
Must be able to work well under pressure and remain calm and collected in stressful situations


Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the entertainment industry, specifically in theatrical publicity/marketing
Experience working with multiple clients, departments, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels
Excellent computer skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft based software: Outlook, Word and Excel
