The Director, Human Resources Business Partnerships, Coffeebars serves as a trusted and collaborative advisor providing proactive, practical and valued HR thought partnership and consultation to leadership within Peet’s retail organization. This individual is responsible for collaborating with senior leadership while leading a group of HR professionals in support of the day to day people activities within Peet’s coffeebars. The Director of HRBPs is also responsible for leading people policies and implementing programs and practices including onboarding, performance management, employee relations and compliance strategies. He/she provides guidance and development to the team while fostering an environment of collaboration, growth and high performance. Additionally, the Director works with peers in other HR disciplines (Talent Acquisition, Leadership and Organizational Development, Compensation & Benefits, HR Systems and Communications) to deliver upon programs that enable a great employee experience for Peetniks across the organization. This is a full time, exempt role reporting to the Sr. Director, HRBPs and Talent Acquisition.
Responsibilities
Cultivate an environment that supports and builds upon Peet’s unique culture and organizational values.
Develop, foster and leverage productive partnerships with client group to identify people needs and maximize the achievement of business goals.
Collaborate with business leaders in planning and leading organizational change.
Coach managers and consult on organizational effectiveness and team development.
Provide guidance and decisions on employee relations issues, including performance management and terminations.
Implement, manage and support people programs such as the annual performance management cycle, onboarding and succession planning.
Partner with the Total Rewards team to identify and implement targeted compensation strategies.
Lead the implementation and administration of HR policies and processes.
Assess potential risks and ensure adherence to local, state and federal employment laws and regulations, partnering with the Legal team and appropriate business leaders.
Establish and monitor HR metrics and use data to provide insight for business partners.
Provide professional guidance, coaching and development to the retail HR Business Partner team to facilitate their career growth.
Qualifications
7-10 years of progressive HR business partner experience with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources or related field, required; Master’s preferred.
Must have experience in a high growth organization. Experience in specialty retail and multi-channel consumer products environments strongly preferred.
Experience leading HR support for retail, food service or other similar employee populations.
Current knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
The ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet targets and deadlines.
