Finance Director SEE adidas Athens

Input and participate in the development of the business strategies and operations of the South East European Countries. Continuously identify and recommend all necessary actions to improve the financial performance and efficiency of the business. Drive, track and support management of yearly targets. In addition, cross-functional activities such as driving cost efficiencies, proactive risk-management and review of commercial decisions to maximize profitability are key responsibilities of this position. Represent the country organization externally as official statutory representative and ensures that local legislation on statutory accounts, company fillings and taxes is met.
Key Responsibilities:

Business Partner Role

Drive value creation through helping the business make better operational and strategic decisions Support the South Europe FP&A Team on monthly/quarterly Planning milestones Provide a critical view on all the business drivers, contributing to the achievement of targets and the continuous improvement of the financial performance Provide ongoing input from a financial perspective for business decision-making, e.g. optimum transfer pricing model, sales compensation structure, sales terms, accounts receivable aging, inventory levels, clearance and phase-out evaluation Establish processes to closely manage key financial parameters of sales, including returns, inventory turns, DSO and cash flow to achieve annual targets Proactively manage the balance sheet and P & L on a monthly basis to maximize the return for adidas group Proactively identify, evaluate and drive opportunities to reduce costs
Internal Controls & Policies

Secure strong internal controls over assets and compliance with Group policies. Ensure audit and compliance with Group finance manual of the key financial, control and approval processes. Responsible for the implementation of the annual Global Control Self-Assessment (“GCSA”) process to facilitate on-going adherence to policies and best practices. Ensure provision of regulatory financial information and governance of all legal entities to the respective tax and financial institutions Will serve as the key interface for external and internal audit with primary responsibility for adherence to policy and legal regulations. Oversee and direct the preparation and issuance of the statutory accounts. Identify and recommend opportunities for creating or enhancing business processes or procedures in order to improve control and/or efficiency, e.g. inventory controls, returns Ensure all standards and process of the Global Profit Protection activities are applied
Credit Management

Ensure provision of credit control of all customers and drive cash collection within the agreed targets Play active role in customer negotiations regarding all credit, payment and risk management matters, also regarding future cooperation with financially risky clients
Facilities & Services

Ensure optimal and efficient operations and management of the company buildings, facilities and installations as well as optimal and efficient provision of general services supporting employees.
People Management

Provide input and feedback on the definition of the organizational structure, set objectives in alignment with Finance Director and manage workloads and results to achieve goals while adopting best practices and achieving continuous process improvement. Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of personnel in the team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong business analytical and numerical skills (with a proven business acumen) High sense of organisation and precision Project and process management skills Desire and ability to work closely and collaboratively with members of Senior Finance Leadership team at Multifunctional Country level Ability to coach, manage, align, motivate and develop direct reports Ability to execute scenario planning and investment case analysis as appropriate Excellent analytical, written, oral, organizational, and presentation skills to influence Market leadership and decisions at Market level
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

Advanced degree or qualification in Finance, Economics or Accounting (e.g. MBA or CPA) Solid accounting skills and experience Familiarity with SAP, COPA and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software a major plus At least 7 years of broad based operational finance experience with progressive responsibility in industry leading companies Mulit-cultural and/or international management experience preferred Preferably knowledge of adidas and Global Finance organization and processes Language skills: fluent in Local language and English spoken and written
