Lead PayPal’s security development efforts, including both new capabilities and supporting existing feature set with a focus on cryptography services, anti-automation, and anomaly detection technologies
Lead PayPal’s cryptographic functions including key management and HSM operations teams.
Collaborate with security leadership, Business Units and regional teams to establish multi-year goals, target architecture and security strategy for PayPal’s entire security software portfolio.
Assess gaps between current and target security architectures, evaluate options, and develop appropriate solution strategies leveraging PayPal’s own technologies in combination with open source and COTS products.
Manage all security software development staff both internal and contracted
Advise security operations teams supporting incident response on intrusion detection monitoring, scanning, cyber threat reporting, and development/implementation of mitigation strategies
Provide expertise and security requirements to colleagues across the company who are building platform, infrastructure, and database applications and frameworks
Represent PayPal security to external parties in building long-term roadmaps for external security products
Provide overall leadership for PayPal’s Israel-based Security organization

Experience Requirements
Respected senior information security product or development leader at a large, global company in dynamic and fast changing markets
Experience building and managing large teams of top tier engineers
Experience designing and delivering internet-scale, enterprise-wide information security technology architectures, products, capabilities, and processes with a focus on scalability, durability, and performance
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, translation into operating plans and budgets, making buy/build decisions based on requirements, importance to business, risk and cost.
Experience in financial services and security technology industries

Knowledge requirements
A deep, current knowledge of technology - networks, operating systems, browser and web security, cloud and software defined networking considerations, varied application stacks, distributed systems, and programming languages and environments
Deep expertise with cryptographic protocols, implementations, vulnerabilities, usability, and performance characteristics in real world systems
A good understanding of the human aspects of information security including basic psychology, cognitive biases, heuristics, decision making
