Facebook is seeking an experienced executive who will lead our Data Center Connectivity group, crafting and driving operations as well as long-term strategic direction. Areas of primary focus include: network cabling design, construction, operations, cost control and program delivery. The ideal candidate should be familiar with network connectivity, hardware engineering, and construction and operation of data centers. This person must have excellent communications and relationship building skills at all levels in the organization. The ability to set strategic priorities and achieve results through others is essential, and requires close alignment with the construction, procurement, network engineering, data center operations, legal, and finance teams. This is a full-time role based in our Menlo Park office.
Drive strategic planning related to fiber optic network design, project deployment and operations
Oversee broad functions (design and construction), projects, and teams within the connectivity organization
Partner with cross-functional teams to develop future network cabling designs that are robust, scalable, and operationally efficient
Collaborate with our legal and finance teams to assure we are meeting our operational, legal and financial objectives
Scale global teams by recognizing opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiency through key automation and productivity initiatives
Build and retain a world-class global deployment and operations team through mentorship, guidance and career development
Provide management guidance on organizational effectiveness, change management and conflict resolution, as well as provide expertise in the following areas: career planning, performance management, coaching and data analysis
Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
15+ years experience leading and managing teams within a multinational engineering or operations capacity in the data center space or similar mission critical environments
Familiar with design and construction processes
Demonstrated ability to think strategically with analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in identifying, utilizing and communicating performance metrics
Proven relationship management skills and ability to work within a global organization
Proven ability to influence others without having positional authority
Communication skills
Approximately 20% domestic and international travel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in structured cabling deployment and operations, specifically fiber
