Lead the EMEA internal control and audit function to ensure that Canon Europe is reporting in accordance with USGAAP; its operations and internal controls are effective; and it complies with all applicable laws and regulations including the Sarbanes Oxley Act.

Internal Audit / Control Strategy:
- Set strategy of IC and identify opportunities where IC can contribute and support the European Group with approval of CFO and, where appropriate CINC Internal Control Department.
SOX Renewal:
- Lead project to refresh SOX risk control assessment; design effective controls; devise appropriate testing; and ensure co-ordination of assessment and reporting
Periodic Financial Review:
- Propose and implement a risk based cycle of Periodic CEMIS (USGAAP) & Financial review of Canon Europa NV and its subsidiaries with reference to the standards in USGAAP, the CEMIS manual and the Controllers manual. Provide early warning of issues to the CFO and top management of any significant issues which may affect financial reporting or compliance with those standards
Specific Projects:
- As approved by CFO, support the business in the Finance key focus areas. As directed by the CFO, perform Fraud and Compliance investigations, including those prompted by Whistle-blower reports and Internal and External Audit
Finance Committees:
- Contribute in various continuous committees / project teams (such as CEMIS Committee, Compliance Assessment Group, etc.) Act as Editor of the Controller’s Manual.
Leadership & Development:
- Lead the IC team to ensure the objectives of IC are met in an effective and efficient manner. Support the development of the team members
- Act as a core member of the EMEA Finance Leadership team

Professional Accountancy qualification.
Broad experience of all key Financial functions and the commercial aspects of business.
Good knowledge of USGAAP (both at a reporting level and journal entry level), SOX legislation, COSO model.
Experienced in / or knowledgeable of ERP systems and their implementation
