Facebook is seeking an experienced Communications director to lead the company’s communications efforts in India. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to build nation-wide and regional programs in India, manage issues and media relations, and be highly organized, energetic and detail-oriented. This role is based in Delhi, and will report to the Communications Director for APAC.
Develop, lead and execute communications strategies and initiatives to support Facebook’s product, platform, monetization and policy efforts in India
Counsel cross-functional partners in policy, legal, marketing, and other groups within the company on a broad set of communications matters ranging from media engagement strategy to crisis management
Educate users, press, bloggers, analysts and influencers about core Facebook products and initiatives
Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media, including consumer, business and advertising trade outlets
Protect and enhance the reputation of Facebook and its products
Support and manage the creation of press materials and customer/partner reference programs
Have good understanding and knowledge of India
Respond to and route incoming media requests across India
Manage agency support in India
Organised press briefings, media sessions, events, prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum bachelors’ degree
post-graduate or professional degrees preferred
15+ years professional experience, both agency and in-house preferred
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
Strong people and managerial skills – need to be able to work with people at all levels, of different nationalities and manage a wide variety of stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully
Experience of complex policy issues on a national or international basis
Experience in the internet technology industry a plus
Passion for Facebook essential
