The Cluster Communications Director, reporting hierarchically to Regional Communications Director, is based in Casablanca (Morocco) and will as a responsibility have to ensure consistent communications externally and internally, support business in the both clusters (Algeria & NCA) in close coordination with internal & external stakeholders by:
Building and developing Alstom’s image towards external and internal stakeholders
Promoting the product and service portfolio to support the business
Supporting local management in engaging employees around country/cluster priorities in line with Alstom strategy, reinforcing the sense of belonging to Alstom.
TEAM COORDINATION
The Cluster communications Director is member of the country/cluster management committee to ensure close coordination with the management team. He/She is in charge of coordinating the communications relays on sites, the JVs and/or consortia communications contacts.
COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY
The Cluster communications Director
Defines, deploys and implements annual communications plan (internal and external topics) based on Alstom communications guidelines and strategy; on local business and social challenges (industrial sites and geographical regions); and in close collaboration with Country/cluster MD.
Manages retro-planning/ actions per audiences
Manages communications budget, follow-up & reporting in close collaboration with Region Communications Director
The Cluster communications Director customises a country/cluster Messaging Platform, in close collaboration with its Region Communications Director and country/cluster MD (incl. Projects key messages,…)
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
The Cluster communications Director leads Customers Communications Relations for local events and projects (such as local 1st deliveries, local projects milestones, inaugurations…), including the communications action plans.
Includes customers communications’ relationship follow-up.
The Cluster communications Director identifies together with Region Communications director and central Events pole Rank 2 conferences & exhibitions.
Manages and leads all local events with the support of Regional Communications Director, Central Events, Information and Brand teams:
Defines format of event, manages retro-planning, logistics, messages, speaking opportunities and speaker identification, media briefings, press-kits, audiovisual
The Cluster communications Director leads Sites Visits targeting VIP Institutionals and VIP Customers.
The Cluster communications Director supports rank 2 Tenders communications of the cluster (incl. messages, support for marketing communications) with the support of Central tender communications manager.
MEDIA RELATIONS WITH NATIONAL/ REGIONAL PRESS
The Cluster communications Director leads Country/cluster media relations in coordination with Region communications Director and in accordance with rules defined centrally:
Creates, manages and updates country/cluster media database
Behaves proactively towards media to enhance the Alstom awareness, success stories and project milestones: interviews, press-breakfasts...
Advises management on media opportunities and behavior
Writes communication supports for specific targets (internal/external): press releases; press kits; statements, Q&A for interviews, speeches, etc.
Organises country/cluster media clipping and escalates to Central Information department relevant articles and coverage pieces
The Cluster communications Director manages Crisis communications in accordance with the rules defined at central level (incl. external/ internal positions papers), in close coordination with Region Communications Director, country/cluster MD + support functions for inputs.
BRAND COMMUNICATIONS
The Cluster communications Director must apply the Alstom branding and graphic chart rules.
The Cluster communications Director manages the production of local content for print and online tools (messages, figures, Country/cluster and sites PPT presentations, videos…).
The Cluster communications Director coordinates the Audiovisual operations for its zones with Central Audiovisual Team (photo shootings, video shootings…).
The Cluster communications Director applies the Central branding rules for JVs and consortia in close coordination with the Central Brand Team.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
ALL EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATIONS
The Cluster communications Director manages all employees’ communications through cascading of central information Alstom communications top-down, using Teams flash and Alstom TV channels, and escalating project milestones and overall social climate.
MANAGERIAL COMMUNICATIONS
The Cluster communications Director manages Country/cluster MD internal & external positioning, advising messages and behavior, with detailed action plan.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidate need to be able to demonstrate the following skills experience and attributes:
Educational Degree: University degree level in Communications or Business studies
Experience : Senior experience with strong skills in media relations
Market and Business Understanding: Knowledge of the domestic environment and knowledge of the international environment
Technical Competencies required for the role:
