We are looking for a Director of Software Development. In this position, you will partner with business leadership and customers to leverage and design technology to supports rapid business expansion.
The person in this position will:
Lead team in soliciting business requirements, designing and introducing new solutions for IoT customers.
Lead team in Proof of Concepts to run on new systems, Enterprise initiatives, service oriented architecture, more customer focused.
Lead the team to accomplish its overarching goals. Set goals for the team. Foster a
culture of partnership, accountability and team-mindedness.
Hands-on work testing and evaluating new technologies.
Liaise with corporate headquarters in Jersey City, NJ on a regular basis. Periodic travel to HQ required.
About You
To meet these needs, you will need to meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Master’s preferred. 8+ year’s experience in related field
10+ years of technical experience in the industry and 8+ years leading development teams
Architecture and team leadership experience is required, preferably in P&C Insurance
Knowledge and experience linking leading technology to market and client needs
Ability to lead architecture initiatives, plan activities and resources, work hands-on, manage/develop staff, and mentor junior members, is required
Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
Team-player with strong, motivational and mentoring skills
Demonstrated experience with big data /cloud based technology preferred.
