Works with in-house video production team to provide technical direction and other video production services for a variety of high-production-value live events in Apple’s campus theaters, and other locations as needed. Provides leadership in the control room to maintain error-free execution of live shows. Must be proficient with the entire video production lifecycle.
8 + years’ experience as a technical director in a live broadcast environment such as a television studio, stadium or remote truck.
Highly skilled operator of video production switchers, including the ability to build and maintain effects, interface with external devices, and create user preferences. Experience with Sony MVS7000X and Sony XVS8000 is preferred.
2 + years’ experience as a camera operator, including proficiency in the operation of robotic, multi-camera systems and manually-operated cameras.
A great sense of timing and creative visual skills, with an eye for composition, camera shading, and lighting.
Well-rounded video production crew experience and video engineering skills are required. Additional experience as a producer, production manager, video engineer, projectionist, lighting technician or stage hand/rigger is a plus.
Must be able to perform workflows for identifying and resolving operational errors and have experience with signal routing and monitoring, video and audio servers, etc.
Description
Operates the video production switcher and directs the video production crew during live, recorded and streamed shows. Depending on the level of the production, may take cues from the show director instead.
Maintains switcher equipment and ensures firmware updates are completed.
Assists with specification of switcher equipment and upgrades. Requires effective vendor management, project management and follow through ability.
Remains current with technological developments in the video, presentation and broadcast fields by attending conferences like NAB and InfoComm annually.
Acts as a great team player, remains open to performing in a variety of crew roles and learns new skills.
Adheres to Apple’s high production standards and codes of ethical conduct. Works well under pressure and maintains self-composure and integrity. Exercises good judgement.
Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills to consult with presenters and colleagues. Analyzes the production needs of customers and finds the best match of technology and services, enabling maximum impact of presentations.
Interfaces with customers to manage their presentation content (could include loading Keynote presentations, QuickTime content, etc.).
Remains flexible and prepared for changes to the schedule, including working early mornings, evenings or weekends.
Quickly responds to emails, texts and phone calls in order to provide a high standard of service to customers and colleagues.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution with field experience or an equivalent combination of education and field experience.
