What you’ll do:



You’ll lead a team of engineers working on Zap – which consists of our consumer products for home buyers and sellers and our industry-leading engagement platform for real estate professionals.



Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

Lead the growth and development of an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact
Foster a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies ZapLabs’ employee value proposition
Set direction for the team, and anticipate strategic & scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term planning
Design and implement distributed & highly concurrent Java based enterprise services, including microservices
Help create a software stack that enables clean separation of business logic.
Scale our core services and make them reliable & high-performing
Provide technical leadership in the architecture and implementations of Zap


Skills, accomplishments, & interests you should have:



BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline – or equivalent combination of training and experience
8+ years core engineering experience: building business logic layers and back-end systems for high-volume consumer facing web applications
Current experience designing and developing microservices
Current experience developing and deploying applications to cloud
Deep experience with APIs
Solid understanding of distributed computing principles and experience designing scalable platform services
Ability to meet deadlines with high attention to detail
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills and ability to tailor communication approach to different audiences


Nice to haves:

Experience mentoring or acting in a lead capacity
Extensive LOTR or Star Wars knowledge
