Effective business leader responsible for leading complex commercial projects / programs and developing the project leadership team including both internal employees and contracted service providers. Establish and maintain Commercial project / program portfolio for all commercial projects including project approval and prioritization. Work with the Commercial Executive Team (CET) to prioritize and align on commercial initiatives based upon business value, project risk, and resource requirements. Develop and implement project management methodology, template and tools to provide a consistent and flexible approach from large complex programs to smaller business-owner led projects. Report on portfolio progress status including time, scope, resource/budget and risks. Provide insight into the resource impact of current and future commercial initiatives. Establish and manage co-sourced project management staffing model to provide flexible capacity for project management leadership. Develop and monitor service level agreements with all contracted vendors providing project management services.
Essential Functions
• Manage Program leadership team comprised of both employees and contracted project management vendors.
• Responsible for all aspects of Vendor Management to provide flexible capacity for project management (vendor contracts, Service Level Agreements, service budget).
• Lead large scale projects and programs in support of commercial activities (Product Launches, Commercial Business Development support, business process improvement and commercial services).
• Establish project portfolio strategy including project approval, prioritization, status reporting, etc.
• Establish Sunovion project management standards across commercial including toolkits / templates for smaller business led projects and provide leadership and coaching support for PMO team.
• Develop and maintain a project portfolio across commercial.
• Forecast resource requirements to support projects across entire portfolio.
• Lead the evaluation of project management tools and approaches.
• Establish and maintain project management training for all commercial project leaders including PMO staff and business project leads.
• Define and report metrics at the project and portfolio level to senior commercial leadership.
• Assess conflicts with key initiatives and proposes solutions to Commercial Executive Team.

• Bachelors required.
• PMP Certification preferred.
• MBA preferred.
• Six Sigma preferred.
• Must possess excellent project management, communication, leadership, and influence skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and programs to deliver intended business results without direct supervisor responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems, mediate issues, develop solutions and implement a course of action.
• Demonstrated ability to implement change at all levels of an organization.
• Formal project management experience or facilitating business process improvement (BPI) initiatives.
• Experience working within a commercial department in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related life science industry.
• Strong Negotiation, facilitation and organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and organization skills required.
• Strong ability to communicate in multiple mediums to all levels of the organization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Project Management tools.
