Sales Director State Local Government Ericsson New York

Drive the Eastern half of the US and Canada for Customer Group Industry & Society to secure short and long-term profitable business with State & Local Governments. Proactively develop the business based on fundamental understanding of the Government sales process, operations and objectives. Actively manage internal resources to deliver efficient/effective end to end solutions allowing seamless transition from sales to operations. Act with authority in order to develop both internal and external relation/s in order to actively contribute to making customers and Ericsson successful.
Responsibilities & Tasks

Develop solutions leveraging Ericsson’s products and services that can be sold direct to State & Local Government Agencies or via partners
Must have existing customer relationships that can be leveraged into new sales opportunities for Ericsson
Previous knowledge of selling solutions such as IT Consolidation and Optimization solutions, LTE, Fiber, IP Routing, Managed Services, and Systems Integration.
Maximize customer relationship & build loyalty both with end customers
Sales opportunity creation and management with system tool/process (CRM)
Generate profitable sales
Secure seamless transition to operations
Individual contributor role until the east region business is large enough to add headcount that will report to the director of the east region
Position Qualifications

Core Competences:

Consultative selling skills
Government procurement process and commercial ecosystem understanding
Existing set of industry relationships with potential alliance partners
Customer insight and experience with Government sales across the ecosystem
Market insight/knowledge of US & Canadian government requirements for ICT solutions
Negotiation skills
Processes & tools for complex government sales cycles
Sales Leadership and ability to engage at senior levels of the government ecosystem
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

BS in business and or Engineering
Masters degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

Knowledge of and contacts in North American Government ecosystem (End Customers, Large System Integrators, Federal Government resellers, Regional State & Local resellers)
Minimum of 10 years of Government selling experience
Highly developed soft skills that foster strong cross functional team efforts
Intellectual ability & Strategic thinking
Accountable and committed with a track record of building new business in less than ideal environments

Result oriented

Additional Requirements, Physical Demands, Region/Local Specifications:

Job location is in the eastern half of RNAM with the expectation of 60% to 75% travel
