This position will direct research, evaluation, and assessment efforts of local, national, and international programs and projects under the responsibility of and in consultation with the Senior Vice President of Education at the Kennedy Center. The Director will manage and facilitate a research agenda including program evaluation, assessment, and reporting, creating and collecting a relevant bank of tools and instruments, capacity building of the Education Team and members of the organization, and sharing/disseminating findings with the organization and its constituents.

Responsibilities Include:
Lead a team of researchers and evaluators in conducting evaluation and research studies that systematically review evaluation processes currently used by programs of the Kennedy Center.
Share knowledge with a variety of audiences about the opportunities and outcomes of Kennedy Center educational programs.
Manage third party vendors and contractors to support evaluation studies and programs
Seek opportunities to publish results of evaluation work of the Kennedy Center.
Education/Experience:
Doctoral degree required in related field (arts, education, or special education) required, with a minimum of 5 years of effective project management experience in an educational setting or program.
Knowledge of educational research and evaluation methodologies including experience with empirical data collection, analysis, synthesis, and reporting.
Knowledge of U.S. and international education issues, trends, concepts, policies and practices (general and special education).
Excellent communication skills with experience in presenting complex ideas in clear and innovative ways.
Project and budget management and tracking skills essential, with general management and supervision skills.
Ability to present engaging and enlightening presentations about outcomes of evaluations and assessments to large groups of people.
