Director of QA job responsibilities include:
Be a champion of the customer and advocate for QA throughout the organization
Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
Manages QA personnel on a day-to-day basis with the assistance of team leads
Designs, implements and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
Affinity for staying abreast of new and emerging technologies
Strong organizational, time management, and research capabilities
Ability to work independently, as well as with members of development, support and all other departments
Leads by example and is comfortable in providing direction and coaching
Commitment to quality, customer service, and department standards and goals

Possesses strong risk assessment and prioritization skills
Responsible for overseeing and leading work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
10 plus years of actual hands on, manual testing experience including test plan and case creation
6+ year of hands on, automated testing experience
Knowledge of HP ALM – manual, automation, mobile
Strong organizational skills
Clear understanding of QA timeline urgencies
Be a self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Understand source control management and build processes
Understand and manage multiple sets of source/product versions in various test environments
Must be able to work comfortably in a very fast paced work environment
Understanding of software lifecycle through deployment
Experience with distributed, local and offshore, QA management
Excellent knowledge of technologies such as web-based applications, SOA, etc in addition to new and emerging technologies
Strong organizational, time management, and research capabilities
