The Director of Program Management and Operations is a key leader within the Domains organization, responsible for managing a complex, multi-product development roadmap as well as building and improving critical business processes for the company’s largest business unit. This role interacts closely with product, marketing, partner management, engineering, legal, finance, and customer support teams across GoDaddy, as well as external partners, to drive execution of top domains initiatives.
This person excels at driving complex initiatives to successful completion by collaborating with stakeholders throughout the organization. They thrive on bringing structure and efficiency to processes and projects. They are highly engaged, own challenges and opportunities from end-to-end, have excellent communication skills, and are adept at bridging the gap between business and technical teams. This person is a self-starter and comfortable operating at a fast pace with minimal direction.
The position reports directly to the EVP of Domains.
Responsibilities:
Manage domains product roadmap and program execution, in partnership with product and engineering managers and domains leadership team. This role directly manages the group’s master roadmap and works 1-1 with product teams to define detailed, scoped 12-month plans.
Oversee prioritization of domains product and engineering priorities, including working with internal stakeholders to make tradeoffs. As needed, serve as point of escalation, providing guidance to teams working through conflicts and resource constraints.
Ensure stakeholder alignment with domains product development priorities. Articulate goals, business plans, and cost/revenue opportunities to stakeholders across internal and external orgs.
Provide project management support for major cross-team initiatives.
Lead business operations across the Domains organization, with special focus on operational interactions with registries, change management, and issue resolution. Work closely with engineering and business partners to create and execute operational processes that drive maximum efficiency and scalability across the organization.
Lead the Domains Compliance and Advanced Support organization, which engages with customers and outside parties to resolve complex support issues and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Provide both strategic leadership and in-the-trenches guidance on process and customer service optimization.
Lead communications of domains priorities, roadmaps, and results to staff and stakeholders.
Manage a team of ~20 program managers, operations managers, and support and compliance representatives.
Requirements:
Strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate compellingly and drive operational excellence.
7+ years of demonstrated success in program/project management, business operations, or similar roles required. Prior experience managing a software development roadmap in an agile environment required.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder projects required. Collaborative, with the ability to influence team members, development teams, and other business groups, often without direct management authority.
Significant experience building and optimizing business processes, including ability to review and revamp entrenched operational programs to reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction.
Ability to provide both strategic planning and roll-up-your-sleeves tactical day-to-day implementation.
Strong communication skills with individuals at all levels, including frequent engagement with senior leadership.
Technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex issues and communicate directly with technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to build, coach and manage successful operations and program teams in an agile development environment.
Creative, innovative, and solution-oriented, taking the initiative to develop ground-up solutions.
