Modis Burbank is looking for a Director, Network & Telecom, for a client in the Burbank area. Working closely with the Executive Management, this position has the overall responsibility for the vision, development, administration and support of the growing global network, internet connectivity and Telecommunications systems. This is a key position, where the individual must have strong cross-functional leadership and personal skills, as well as substantial technical experience and expertise in network architecture, planning, engineering and operations. In consultation with key stakeholders, the individual must be able to create, plan, implement, and maintain network strategic plans. The individual must have the ability to clearly communicate with stakeholders on project plans and vision with improving the existing networks and telecommunications solutions. This individual must be committed to the highest levels of customer service, as well as following industry standards for project management and service delivery (i.e. ITIL). Strong management and interpersonal skills are critical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operational responsibility for a majority of the global network footprint, including logical and physical design of the networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, IP space, Internet connectivity, and wireless networks.
• Provide strategic leadership, direction, and guidance to the Network Services teams.
• Partner with stakeholders to map the needs of the business to detailed technical requirements for network infrastructure and services.
• Analyze complex network environments and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, documentation, technical KPIs and SLAs for network & telecommunications services.
• Develop multi-year strategy and roadmap aligned with the business strategy and technology roadmaps.
• Develop a budget for network and infrastructure upgrades as well as create a lifecycle process.
• Review and analyze networking and physical operations, including capacity planning, fault tolerance, performance, new and advanced technology, monitoring, and service levels; develop recommendations to improve performance and capacity.
• Provide expertise and best practice recommendations for office LAN environments.
• Participate in change control, production acceptance and incident management processes
• Produce detailed reports on network connections, network capabilities, network infrastructure, upcoming projects, including visual aids to identify areas of concern.
• Provide leadership in identifying new technologies and services, including impact and costs as they relate to networking and telecommunication services.
• Provide operational leadership and project management oversight for personnel and projects for both network and telecommunications teams.
• Accelerate the professional and technical development of coworkers through coaching and training ensuring focus on achieving high customer satisfaction.
• Develop plans for transitioning many local office PBX systems to full VoIP solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
• Understanding and experience implementing and maintaining a global MPLS networks
• Experience deploying, managing, and architecting a global WAN
• Experience leading diverse teams of both Network and Telecom employees
• Expert understanding of advanced switching and routing technologies
• Experience with multiple vendor network technologies including Cisco and Juniper
• History of managing and owning telecommunications technologies as well as VoIP services
• Experience transitioning from legacy PBX systems to VoIP solutions
• Understanding or experience with VoIP solutions such as Cisco call manager or Skype for Business
•Ability to translate technical terminology to less informed personnel. Strong leadership skills with commitment to customer service.
