Operating at Amazon’s scale demands excellent transactional systems to facilitate the everyday work to support our customers. This role will have a blend of managing, expanding and globalizing packaged software such as Kronos / MyTime, building the systems that the human resource organizations uses to support employees, such as systems to manage leaves of absence, and also building new products for employee interaction with the core systems using both on the web and on mobile platforms.

The People Technology team is responsible for designing and building distributed, scalable, flexible and extensible products and services on AWS infrastructure. These products and services will support our businesses and workforce globally. This includes expanding on not only what software can do for the workforce today but also how to scale processes/software to support hundreds of thousands of employees around the globe. We are building a platform for employees to manage all people related tasks that is flexible, extensible and accommodates the addition of new use cases over time. This will be mission critical, global enterprise software for innovative people management that serve both small, unique teams as well a large global employer. Our platform needs to support a diverse workforce and be accessible to employees anywhere and anytime.



As a seasoned leader, they will have hired and developed world-class teams, taken brave and innovative talent decisions to scale teams to business needs. They will demonstrate excellent business judgment and have the ability to generate ideas and solve problems independently. Although naturally strategic, they will also have strong operational skills.

Basic Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required with an undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) also required.

The ideal candidate will be a proven expert in leading technology organizations (50-150) to deliver large scale software solutions.

This leader will be an independent thinker who makes convincing, data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will devise clear strategy, positioning and execution priorities and will be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. S/he will be a pragmatic visionary who can identify business requirements and lead the team to translate them into workable, scalable technology solutions. S/he must be comfortable working with complex challenges, and working with engineering, product, other stakeholders internationally. S/he will also be an expert in building and developing high performance teams.
