Working with People Business Partners, COE and Shared Services partners, this position will support and consult the Chief Commercial Officer and corporate functions globally on various compensation related matters.
Working with People Business Partners, COE and Shared Services partners, this position will support and consult the Chief Commercial Officer and corporate functions globally on various compensation related matters such as salary management, compensation programs, employee and manager education and communication, job design and evaluation and corporate policies/procedures interpretation.
Additionally, the role will be involved in analysis and impact of corporate compensation initiatives. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support and counsel to managers and People Business Partners on compensation related activities such as strategic new hire offers, promotions, international transfers, budget allocation, top talent and retention. He/She will proactively research and analyze data (market, turnover, offer acceptance rates, etc.) to determine the competitive position of client groups and then present findings and recommendations to senior business and People leaders to ensure both internal equity and external competitiveness are maintained as appropriate. In this role, the Director, Compensation will manage the annual focal program for assigned clients to ensure the right compensation decisions are made that align to PayPal’s pay-for-performance philosophy. She/He will consult with the business on incentive plan design, governance, communications and implementation. Additionally, the placement will conduct assessments of incentive plan effectiveness and provide recommendations on plan changes. This role requires deep knowledge of sales comp design and the ability to execute strategy and drive change through a high growth organization.


Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with applicable employment-related federal and state statutory requirements regarding employee pay.
Stays up-to-date on current compensation-related legislation and trends.
Participate in the development and maintenance of compensation programs, systems and tools.
Support compensation planning processes and continuously prepare managers to make sound compensation decisions.
Lead, participate and contribute to various other projects and initiatives pertaining to compensation and/or overall global total reward programs and practices.


Position Requirements:

Demonstrated proficiencies in a dynamic HR environment requiring significant expertise and experience to refine the total rewards infrastructure supporting organizational growth.
Ability to help set strategic direction and to present to senior management
Sales compensation experience
Strong knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations
Demonstrated expertise managing projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to establish/maintain excellent working relationships with HR business partners, other HR teams and leadership teams
Demonstrates strong initiative, is self-managed and can multi-task
Thrives in a fast-paced, high growth environment
Computer Skills: SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and internet savvy
Requires occasional travel to regional locations

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or related certification is preferred.

10+ years relevant experience is required. Incentive plan development and implementation experience preferred.
