Juniper Networks is looking for a Senior Director to take on a new role within the Federal Sales team focused on Strategy and Business Operations. This executive role is responsible for working with the Federal Executive Leadership Team as well as senior executives across Juniper to further develop plans, resourcing, and timelines for the critical business, technical, and go-to-market initiatives. This role will also look at the business from the perspective of Key Performance Indicators, metrics, and historical data to analyze trends and predictive indicators in support of business growth. The Senior Director of Federal Strategy & Business Operations must have intimate knowledge as well as close alignment to the Federal community and have intimate knowledge of Federal IT trends and transformation initiatives. The strategic side of this role has a focus on the growth opportunities across the mission (operational and non-IT) programs as well as business and competitive opportunities across the full cloud continuum (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). Critical to the success of in this role is creativity, strong presence in the community around the business, excellent ties to the partner and Systems Integrator communities, and a strong ability to communicate effectively at the Senior Executive, COO, and CEO level.

Qualifications and responsibilities:

This leader must have demonstrated industry connections, business and sales vision, a network of partners and the experience to develop strategy in the recently evolved federal markets of cloud as well as tactical and mission-centric programs.
There must be demonstrated knowledge of Federal spending priorities for growth and the creativity to translate that knowledge into strategic options.
A proven track record with increasing responsibility and consistent delivery ahead of expectations.
A demonstrated knowledge of the Federal community’s issues as they pertain to security, standards, and technology.
Strong analytical skills. Working with and understanding business metrics is a must. The ability to analyze Juniper market opportunities, quantify results, and take appropriate steps to meet or exceed goals will be critical to success. Understanding Juniper metrics systems (i.e. quota, scorecard, etc), developing specific data models to manage our business, and communicating this information to the Federal team and management will be essential.
Creativity. Tackling complex architecture sales, competitive threats, customer ‘inertia’, and making the appropriate judgment calls to succeed.
Ability to gain security clearance required. Existing secret clearance or higher preferred.
Qualifications should include:

7+ years of demonstrated successful territory and sales management of both sales and technical professionals or equivalent government experience.
A BA/BS in Marketing, Business or equivalent experience required. MBA or equivalent engineering degree preferred.
Position is based in DC. Some travel required (40%).
