The Director, Travel and Procurement, leads the travel and procurement functions for the company.
Leads the travel function for all related spend areas, including air, hotel car rental, car services and travel agency for US operations. Develops and implements long-term strategies for employee and non-employee travel with a focus on cost control, process improvement and other customer specific requirements to assist in achieving competitive advantage and improve responsiveness to internal customer and employee needs.

PROCUREMENT:
Leads the procurement function for all related indirect spend areas for US Operations including the following commodities and services: IT services and equipment, temporary labor, office supplies, American Express Corporate Card, commercial print, telecom, office equipment, stationary, subscriptions, executive fleet, furniture. Sony Music’s representative and key contributor to the Sony United Procurement team.

Responsibilities:

The Director’s responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:
Develop Procurement Strategy and oversee negotiations with travel (e.g. airlines, car rental companies, hotels, car services, travel agency) and indirect spend (e.g. IT, office supplies, stationary, telecom, etc.) vendors.
Responsible for development, communication, implementation, measurement, and ongoing improvement of key corporate Travel/Procurement initiatives.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with department heads to identify efficiencies and cost saving opportunities.
Develop policies and procedures, in collaboration with department/label customers.
Track spending and monitor process compliance to document savings and process improvements.
Maintain relationships with preferred vendors with regular meetings/reviews.
Benchmark best practices and procedures with other like companies.
Manage and support Procurement staff (3 people) and Travel staff (1 person) as well as the outsourced travel agency.
Monitor staff to continually identify opportunities for cost savings.
Represent Sony Music and a key contributor to the Sony United Procurement team.
Manage expenditures so to operate within approved budget guidelines.
Manage the travel agency relationship to ensure best-in-class service to internal customers. Work with agency to deliver management reporting with detail and summary information.
Manage and support Procurement staff (3 people) and Travel staff (1 person) as well as the outsourced travel agency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required – business or operational background is preferred; MBA a plus.
5+ years experience managing the Travel/Procurement function in a large scale environment.
Exercises good judgment and business tact.
Financial acumen.
Strong negotiation skills.
Literate in basic software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Travel agency and/or airline experience preferred.
Strong analytical, business process analysis and problem solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Effective time management and organizational skills (develop and execute project plans).
Experience in multiple businesses sectors/spend categories.
Ability to interface with senior management.
High motivation and results-oriented work ethic.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with different levels within the organization, including senior executives

Ability to work well in a collaborative, team oriented environment
Ability to multi-task , work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
