The senior director architecture is responsible for designing the strategy and road map to establish a personalization capability that transforms existing customer experiences, increases brand engagement and subsequently, improves conversions and ROI. The senior director architecture will serve as the SME working in concert with the Business Intelligence, IT, Digital Commerce, Paid Media and loyalty & Relationship Marketing teams, to turn big data into actionable insights that lead to cross-channel, customized experiences (for content, offers, search, etc.) through the customer journey whether in advertising and search, or on desktop, mobile or on property.

This senior director will be the personalization steward and should serve as the capability champion, influencer, collaborator and thought partner liaising with IT and other cross-functional teams and customer touch-point owners to create the appropriate use cases. As the program and related project manager, this senior director is ultimately responsible for ensuring execution against the personalization strategic road map. The senior director must have a firm understanding of digital marketing, CRM, decision management and marketing technologies required to activate enterprise level personalization.

Position Description

Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data-driven decisioning

Understanding of personalization domains across advertising, search, email, mobile, website, call center, etc.

Strong knowledge of marketing technology and personalization tools, platforms and partners

Translating business goals into meaningful business requirements

Proven track record working with IT

Previous experience with successful budget management

Strong relationship management skills-managing/leading agencies and partners

Clear understanding of ROI analysis Open-minded, strong in communication

Develops and executes technical software development strategy for ecommerce applications and systems using current business roadmap

Minimum Qualifications

Master Degree in Computer Science or related field and 15+ years’ experience of running sciences and technology Organization. Building a world class science, technology and product team experience.

Strategy Development & Execution

This role will present and seek buy-in from Sr. Management at levels of VP and SVP in terms of vision alignment. The technology vision should align fellow engineering directors and Sr. directors.

Develop enterprise personalization strategy vision and road map mapping out the path to the future state

Collaborate with capability and channel leads ( e.g., IT, Paid Media, Digital Commerce, Mobile, Loyalty and Relationship Marketing) to devise the business requirements necessary for each channel and use case

Work with IT and Business Intelligence to identify data and marketing technology partners, platforms and solutions required to operationalize personalization delivery

Create business cases for personalization efforts identified in the road map

Serve as project manager and champion for all personalization efforts

Partner with Business Intelligence to define and identify data, models, and business rules necessary to activate the personalization business requirements

Aid in the personalization execution efforts (pre-launch, pilots and post launch)

Monitor and evaluate programs in market and devise optimization plan while considering the next phase of personalization

Set direction for vendors and manage appropriate relationships

Continue to identify innovation opportunities

Team Leadership & Management

This role will lead technology and architect teams and

Set technology vision and road map for products.
Establish technology leadership to allow tech teams to align technology development and processes.

Analytics

Establishes metrics, dashboards and reporting for personalization programs in market from initial strategy through to detailed execution, and evaluates and interprets key metrics to continuously advance efforts


Budget Management

Technology area of investment. Hardware and software purchase decision and budget for hardware and software will be managed by this position.
