This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated marketing leader to join a dynamic and growing team in one of today's hottest sectors of the IT industry. The Extreme Scale Infrastructure (ESI) organization consists of Data Center Solutions (DCS) & Datacenter Scalable Solutions (DSS) and focuses on infrastructure and solutions for the hyperscale and near-hyperscale space. This Product Management Director is responsible for many global marketing functions supporting the DSS business as well as Business Intelligence and Analytics. This would include, but is not limited to: demand/supply planning, capabilities planning, life-cycle management, sales-force enablement, competitive analysis, business analytics, business metrics and direct customer engagement.

Operating as a semi-autonomous business within Dell, ESI maintains a “start-up and scaling fast” mentality. This culture has allowed ESI to grow exponentially. As such, applicants for this role should demonstrate an ability to lead and manage a broad spectrum of responsibilities and interface effectively with non-marketing functions such as engineering, architecture, sales, procurement, operations, program management, and finance. The ability to effectively deal with ambiguity cannot be overstated. This individual will work as well with other Marketing Directors on setting strategic business direction and shaping future direction of ESI. Responsible for solutions and technology marketing activities designed to increase sales growth and expand market share. Uses technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate strategies and identify new opportunities. Analyze markets to determine opportunities. Ensures offerings are defined to obtain maximum profitability. Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and objectives. Evaluates and adjusts strategies to respond to changing and/or competitive markets. Identifies and communicates customer value proposition and maintains relationships with sales, product partners, and third party vendors. Contributes to product development based on client needs. Maintains relationships with and represents customer requirements during the development process

Direct reports of this Director are individuals with extensive experience in server or IT. As this business continues to grow, candidates should demonstrate a track-record of attracting and retaining high-performance employees. The responsibilities of the team will include:

- Applies broad knowledge of company’s product/service capabilities and competitive environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product/service opportunities
- Increase sales growth and expand market share
- Increase stickiness and share of wallet in current accounts and identify more potential opportunities
- Deep understanding of customer technology requirements and how they impact cloud applications
- Understand partner technology roadmaps and map emerging relevant technologies
- Monitor trends in the industry and ESI business opportunities and plan for new capabilities
- Work with Dell engineering, operations, supply chain and services on creation of new offerings
- Understand customer requirements and ensure delivery of optimized products to the customer
- Ensure good marketing operations and process
- Monitor competitive approaches
- Ensure Dell remains innovative and customer focused
- Consistently provide business intelligence and analytics for ESI

Qualifications

-15+ years of experience in product management in server or related industry.
-Must understand technical product concepts to assist engineers and customers in making product/commodity tradeoff decisions.
-Strong knowledge of data center technologies, future trends, and direction, including hyperscale industry competitors.
-Solid business, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
-Strong skills in hands-on execution and project management
-Must have a pragmatic, hands-on style, and the ability to “think outside the box”.
-Strong planning and priority-setting abilities.
-Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills.
-Experienced at managing and delivering on time with multiple concurrent priorities.
-Must have the ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
-Bachelor's Degree - required; Engineering Degree preferred
-MBA preferred
