This New York or London based role is embedded within our Real Assets Securities business and will create and be responsible for the execution of a Product Plan for a number of strategies investing in the securities in the Real Estate and Infrastructure sectors. The role requires deep subject matter expertise, the ability to drive a schedule and the ability to work in a team based environment. The successful candidate will work in close co-operation with many of BlackRock’s teams including Portfolio Management, Global Institutional and Retail Client Relationship Management, Global Consultant Relations, Investor Relations, Finance, Operations and the management of BlackRock’s Alternatives business.

Responsibilities:
Creation of a product plan to grow market share of existing securities products and to define, launch and fundraise for new strategies
Acting as a “proxy” for the portfolio manager, you will meet with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries to: explain the investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific investment products; and to provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the team’s market outlook
Work with both the retail and institutional distribution, provide education on product range and increase the team’s profile in effort to maintain existing clients and bring in new client opportunities
As the primary investment contact for account managers within the firm, you will be seen as the go to person for all day to day queries on the fund management team’s investment decisions and market views as well as all product related details
Take a proactive approach to solving client’s investment-related, business, and operational issues which arise during the course of the client’s relationship with BlackRock by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of BlackRock (compliance, legal, operations, marketing, and sales)
Product development- working with internal and external partners to create scalable products that leverage the skills and resources of the team
Product and asset class messaging- crafting or refining the proper message to help promote the product and asset class to internal and external audiences
Investment committee participation- help to provide another voice in the investment process and work with junior analysts to relate messaging with investment ideas and process
Editing/checking/finalizing product RFP/RFIs
Quarterly and monthly commentary writing to include performance attribution
Skills and Qualifications:
7 – 10 years of experience in a client service/business development role, preferably within the financial services industry, both on the institutional and retail sides
Experience in, or strong knowledge of, equity investments industry preferred, with specific experience in Real Estate investments, REIT’s
Sharp presentation as well as oral and written communications skills
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Strong attention to detail
Series 7 and 66/63
MBA, other advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred
