The Data Management Lead is responsible for managing the “supply side” of all data software at the Bank, e.g. ETL, data stores (databases, datamarts, and data warehouses), data provisioning.
In partnership with IS leadership, sets direction, plans and manages the people and performance of the data management function. Decision making has high impact on business capabilities. Implements strategic direction set by the IS leadership by establishing plans and priorities for teams under own purview and mentoring managers on how to achieve goals.

Technology and data environment enabling the bank’s data strategy
Compliant, secure, auditable and high performing database environments
Responsibilities:

Responsible for building and maintaining data systems including but not limited to Decision Support, Business Intelligence, Customer Relationship Management, Data Warehousing, Meta-data Repositories, Operational Data Stores, and Enterprise Storage Management.
Partner effectively with the Data Integration Lead and through them, with Enterprise Data & Client Insight counterparts, plan the direction of data technologies.
Assist with the evaluation of and make recommendations for new data-related technologies.
Work closely with various IT and Business Technology Partners and project teams to understand business unit needs for data and assist in design and implementation of databases and data software to meet business needs.
Maintain understanding of configuration of databases to lead the development and maintenance of procedures that ensure compliance with bank policies and standards.
Management of relevant vendor relationships and assist in licensing negotiations for database software and database tools.
Work with Information Services and other business counterparts to ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, secure, highly available, flexible and meet current and projected business needs.
Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities.
Responsibilities include the following: 1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.) 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer.
Ensures data management infrastructure, tools, software and related solutions are compliant with bank policies and standards.
Proactively manages and reports on risks.

Excellent technical knowledge of Data Warehousing, Meta-data Repositories, Operational Data Stores, and Enterprise Storage Management

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field (or four additional years related work experience in lieu of bachelors). Masters preferred
Minimum of fifteen years of related work experience. Demonstrated experience in leading an IT sub-function
Experience in hardware / asset management in Financial Services / Banking
Experience in successfully managing and overseeing corporate projects


Physical Requirements:
Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens
Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person
Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions
Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Must be able to travel in a limited capacity
