We are looking for a product leader who can deftly attract enterprise software developers with free and low-cost offerings that easily expand into sellable solutions once code rolls into production.
This role requires a strong product management background and an understanding of agile development methodologies. This position requires deep domain knowledge of the IT industry, industry leading products, market sizing, and the buying persona for enterprise developers and the operations teams that support complex applications at mid to large organizations.

This position requires a well-rounded individual but someone capable of going to depth on many topics relevant to monitoring and improving enterprise applications. As with any product management role in a fast-growing company, day-to-day responsibilities will span the entire product management lifecycle and include deep interaction with customers, sales, and engineering. Specific responsibilities include:

Mapping the existing landscape of real and budget dollar competitors, and using Splunk technology to build solutions that target them.
Coordinate teams that build comprehensive go to market motions from marketing to delivery
Creating requirements to build differentiated products spanning free to cheap to paid
Working with both core Splunk engineering and Splunk Cloud to ensure all features and products are Cloud-friendly
Develop detailed personas, use cases and functional requirements to communicate these needs to engineering
Driving roadmap, requirements and feature delivery for new products and product features
Collaborating with product marketing to support creation of customer driven messaging and content
Note: Title will depend on the candidate’s level of experience and fit for the position.
Ideal candidates will have the following profile: Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!
Experience in product management or developing software
Experience in a business development function in the software industry
Experience working with or as an IT professional
Experience with reporting and analytics solutions and a familiarity with the analytics ecosystem
Ability to write, defend and execute on business cases
Proven ability to lead without authority
Complementary Knowledge (pluses):
Splunk knowledge
Software development lifecycle methods (e.g. waterfall, Agile / scrum) and typical process steps
Experience and familiarity with IT management products and services
Fluency in analysis of unstructured data sets
Education: Got it!
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. EE, CS); MBA or similar degree highly preferred
