Executive Director CIB Chief Data Office Data Management J.P. Morgan Brooklyn

Successful candidates will join a team focused on transformation of our data management. They will be responsible for end to end management of business and data analysis, strategy recommendation and execution of change management initiatives, consistent with the business strategy and principals.

Candidates will be ambassadors for data management best practices across CIB functions, advocating and advising on data integrity controls, data governance, ownership and accountability, and data consumption across systems.

They will be responsible for identifying, syndicating and executing opportunities to better leverage industry data utilities and market data to maximize data integrity, process, controls and on-boarding cycle time.

The role will work closely with all stakeholders including trading and/or product leads, sales, operations and technology; looking to leverage best practice and tools across the industry and other J.P. Morgan business units.


Key roles and responsibilities:

Represent the CIB Chief Data Office and engage North America stakeholders to gain support and promote a data and controls-oriented culture.
Drive party reference data initiatives – Identify gaps and data quality issues, and partner with functions across the CIB including Operations and Technology to execute strategic solutions.
Lead and Support Process Reengineering - Analyze current state and define future state business processes to ensure consistency and gain maximum benefit from industry leading sources of party reference data.
Identify data integrity opportunities, perform root cause analysis, and understand impact and interdependencies in order to develop solutions.
Define and execute high profile, multi-year party reference data remediation program.
Partner with Reference Data Technology to define the roadmap to develop strategic systems and tools.
Collaborate with Firmwide Reference Data and other line of business Chief Data Office teams to resolve cross-LOB data quality issues.
Present proposals and updates to senior managers.
Effectively communicate and lead changes, ensuring that the relevant business, operations and technology stakeholders are engaged and that all issues and risks are identified and escalated.
Manage and cultivate a high performing team.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and investigative skills
Ability to clearly define and articulate business requirements
Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills
Confidence in communicating internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority (up-to Managing Director level) across front office, middle office and technology teams
Strong partnership record and ability to build effective business relationships
Effective change management skills
Strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high-level standard
Understanding of logical data models, meta data and information architecture would be beneficial, as would experience with client reference data
Strong team management skills
Strong project planning skills with a focus on execution and meeting target dates
