With these objectives in the forefront, this leader will drive the design of the next generation of systems to automate, optimize, and scale critical financial processes. Our team drives the strategic design of the platforms owned by Finance Technology and influences upstream systems as it relates to overall business capabilities. Finance Technology’s platforms are among the largest in the world by volume and complexity, and a successful candidate will be able to dive deep into either realm to guide technical and functional decisions with their team. As a leader, you will drive architectural and design choices, identify new features and distributed services, and design scalable, service-oriented platform for the Finance community. A successful candidate will be high-bandwidth leader who can cut through the noise, simplify and deliver results, and build great teams.
The leader will need to partner and influence technology, finance, and business partners, including investment roadmaps, across the company. This leader’s team will first focus on business-specific initiatives including AWS, Amazon Video, and Consumer. Initiatives will vary between inflight and not started. This leader will need to be able to advance the level of sophistication and critical thought around the technology that will be developed that supports Amazon’s growth.

The ideal candidate also loves working with big data and enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time.
Basic Qualifications
· Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object oriented design, and design patterns.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
· +15 years of combined experience in business architecture, systems and solution design/analysis strategy, and other related roles.
· Enterprise-wide experience dealing with finance and business processes, systems and data at the scale of Fortune 50 multi-national companies.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with global technology implementation efforts and rollouts
· Experience working with third-party platforms and integration at scale
· Experience in the finance, accounting or tax domains.
