MSG Ventures will strategically invest in and partner with companies and institutions developing next-generation technologies that redefine the live entertainment experience. The MSG Ventures Product Engineering, Director, Ultra-Dense Connectivity role will be part of a multi-disciplinary team developing technology ranging from high density wireless to dynamic audio systems to immersive video and gaming platforms. This role is based in NY.

Lead the re-definition of what is meant by ultra-dense connectivity in and out of the venue, pushing the limits of existing and yet-to-be defined solutions
Rethink traditional approaches to venue connectivity including wireless and transport, as well as local processing for immersive content and experiences
Develop reference architecture for unlicensed and licensed technologies, including but not limited to 802.11x, LTE, and respective roadmaps
Develop strategies to smartly allocate spectrum and find unconventional uses of emerging spectrum
Architect middle mile and transport networks, with an eye on future proofing
Develop methods to automate network planning, optimization and monitoring across a range of venue cut down scenarios, formats, and emergent artist/guest experiences
Be at the forefront of automated and real-time UX testing, including QoE across latest mobile operating systems
Where strategically necessary, align with key standards, regulatory, or alliance agencies.

Qualifications:

Essential:
Four-year degree in STEM
Minimum of 8-10 years’ relevant work experience
Proven track record of commercializing new products and complex systems, including underpinning technology development and business case justification
Comfortable reviewing deep technical specs, as well as user experience design
Intellectual curiosity, with a healthy appetite for debate
Ability to work in an unstructured environment

Highly Preferred:
Proven track-record performing in a “start-up” environment, and being supportive of the entrepreneurial process
Experience in a technical sector, preferably in an engineering or product development role
Experience in a professional services firm including management consulting, system integrators, or industrial design
