As Director of Partner Solution Engineer, your role is to help Salesforce partners understand how to build premier demo environments, how to use our internally distributed and managed demo orgs as well as use those orgs and environments to demonstrate the power of the platform leveraging any of our Salesforce products.

This position requires strong team development experience and capability, technical and interpersonal communications skills, excellent time management and prioritization capabilities, and an aptitude for critical thinking. In this role, you will work closely with Alliances and sales executive leadership, all program levels and sizes of partners as well as our own partner account managers, product managers, and partner programs professionals, all working towards the shared goal of partner success and growth for every partner type.
This individual must be a compelling presenter and product guru who will effectively evangelize Salesforce technologies -- platform and apps -- with deep technical expertise and first-hand experience working in similar roles.

Responsibilities
Lead and scale up a team of solutions engineering managers and solutions engineers focused on partner capability for enterprise and commercial solutions engineering capability globally.
Work with Alliances team partner account management, senior leadership, field RVP and AVP leadership to drive partner led sales and SE capability development strategies, demo ideas, and new SE technical capability within partner organizations
Develop release readiness strategy and capability, as well as success metrics
Develop and manage a resourcing model that allocates SE resources across the Salesforce.com partner ecosystem to achieve the highest ROI
Lead high value partner SE team relationships, with a track record of actively participating in large, complex partner development engagements with relationships with CxO level partner executives.
Leverage your experience in driving career pathing, organizational field rotations, Trailhead and certifications to differentiate and scale internal team and partner capability.
Partner with recruiting and HR to attract, hire and retain the top 10% of talent in the industry to support our rapid growth.
Work closely with Market Readiness teams to develop an onboarding strategy to ramp new Partner SEs to productivity as quickly as possible
Define performance metrics for evaluating the utilization rates, deal hour assists activity, demo time and contribution of the Partner SE team
Identify opportunities to reduce time spent on low value activities (via automation, central support teams or refining job roles)
Become an expert in our best in breed cloud customer solutions demos, enable your team with world class training, and provide 1:1 coaching and development at every opportunity.
Partner with other groups (e.g. Professional Services, Support, Product Marketing) to help us deliver an exceptional partner program experience, and bring inbound product development requirements.
The role will require travel between 10-25%

Required & Desired Skills/Experience:
Candidate will have experience leading enablement, solution/sales engineering teams.
Candidate will possess good analytical capabilities, be organized and able to work many tasks at the same time.
A demonstrable track record of budget development and management experience.
Proficient with CRM technologies (or other Enterprise business applications) and be able to present to a business or technical audience.
Support the Solution Engineering team by providing guidance on sales strategies, approaches to solve specific problems, as well as a represent their team's needs to executive staff.
Able to communicate equally with internal resources such as Industry leadership, Product Marketing, Development, and Sales Management to gain commitment and support.
Must have good fundamental Sales Skills (Value and Solution Selling) and advanced leadership skills
Knowledge of advanced technologies and business processes including: Modern Web & Mobile Applications, Cloud Technologies and development, Customer Service trends and detailed business processes
Salesforce Sales Cloud or Service Cloud Consultant certification

Demonstrated success driving organizational change within organizations
Experience analyzing, structure, and negotiating long-term technology roadmap initiatives with partners
Broad knowledge of technology trends and relevance to partner client's businesses
Proven experience leading strategy and digital roadmap projects in a complex business and marketing environment
Strong understanding of sales discovery, user research, user-centered design principles
New business opportunity identification experience
