● Take ownership for defining cloud reference architectures to be used by our R&D development teams, specifically auto-scaling, multi-AZ, security architectures, micro-service architectures, container services, security architecture.
● Drive rapid development and operation of these solutions in an “as a Service” model to build operational features into the solutions.
● Work with and influence product development teams to drive implementation of the cloud reference architectures into the product roadmaps.
● Hands on role, leading and managing the cloud architecture team and taking a personal role in defining technical solutions.
● Optimize existing product architectures to take advantage of programmable cloud infrastructure to scale, to be highly available and define best practices. Optimize our product architectures for cost.
● Research and recommend new services being ordered by cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
● Research and recommend new DevOps technologies.
● Take an active part in a culture that is nimble, energized, customer centric as is typical in a leading SaaS company.
● Work with other Cisco business units to ensure products align with cloud architecture and operating model
Minimum Qualifications
● A minimum of 10+ years of experience developing large-scale, distributed enterprise platforms
● 7+ years architecting SaaS products and extensive knowledge of AWS services and architectures is a must.
● 5+ years proven excellence building and leading teams (preferably within a blend of start up and large scale companies)
● Comfortable working in a fluid environment with competing priorities.
● Deep understanding of cloud services and architecture at scale. Experience designing architectures for scale and using auto-scaling.
● Experience in developing both Private Cloud and Public Cloud products.
● Experience designing highly available architectures similar to AWS.
● Experience with AWS-style security services.
● Network engineering concepts (e.g. Firewalls, Load Balancers, CDN’s)
● Configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Salt, Terraform, Vagrant
● Container technologies such as Docker, AWS Container Services. Monitoring & logging tools like New Relic, Splunk, GrayLog, CloudTrail, CloudWatch.
● Understanding of container orchestration/life-cycle systems like Mesos/Marathon and Kubernetes.
● Strong understanding of the implications and value of using containers in an active deployment service.
● Deep understanding of cloud technologies such as virtualization, storage and network domains in a cloud service model.
● Knowledge of relational and document databases.
● Ideally experience in the delivery of large, complex solutions ideally ERP’s.
● Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams.

● Understand DevOps processes in a cloud context, including: cloud architecture, engineering & development, QA, CI/CD, operations
● Proven leadership capabilities, to include performance management, recruiting and mentoring
● Self-motivated, able and willing to help where help is needed
● Experience at forming and leading an engineering organization of multiple scrum teams following an Agile & DevOps methodology
● Experience at building and/or operating a large-scale cloud-native as-a-Service environment
