The Director, Corporate Applications reports to the Head of IT and manages a team of Information Systems personnel with a common goal of supporting Nokia Technologies End user Applications. In conjunction with the Head of IT, this position is responsible for working with organizational businesses to develop the strategic direction of Nokia Technologies' application portfolio. This position will also be responsible for the operational management of the application portfolio, including availability, release management and performance management. This position must also provide effective resource management, coaching and educational direction to the application teams. Vendor relationship management for support and knowledge transfer will also be critical to success in this position.

This position has primary responsibility for maintaining customer relationships with application owners and incorporating their requirements. This includes working with application directors to support enterprise implementation and upgrade projects, coordinating with business units on training, testing and optimization efforts and frequently communicating status to executives and business unit leaders.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
• Working with the Head of IT to develop long and short term strategies for application enhancements, support, upgrades and optimization, based on requirements defined by TECH business units.
• Maintain an expert level knowledge of TECH’s application portfolio and integrated solutions including application functionality and future capabilities
• Partner with various business units to educate teams on application capabilities, best practices and optimization, while collecting business requirements that contribute to strategy, new projects and prioritization.
• Contribute to the overall strategy by incorporating business requirements into application road maps and enhancement initiatives.
Budget and Finance
• Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development and support of all TECH IT applications
• Work with business unit leaders to review application performance and objectives to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements
• Provide overall customer relationship management for all application owners in the business units
• Define and communicate project milestones, service levels, resource allocation and performance management to executive team and end users
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and security requirements and ensure compliance.
Personnel Management
• Provide direct oversight for Directors within the applications team and assist them in managing the responsibilities of their direct reports including performance and productivity measurements
• Work with the assigned Directors and team members on resource management efforts such as hiring and separation, performance evaluations, coaching and counseling, wage and salary administration, employee orientation and training
• Continuously evaluate the team structure and skill sets to ensure it aligns with business process, tactical planning and strategic vision
Vendor Management
• Work with Directors to establish effective working relationships with all application vendors coordinating contract management, knowledge transfer, support services, and strategic planning
• Establish and maintain vendor performance reports cards, to consistently measure vendor contribution and solution effectiveness
• Develop and maintain executive relationships within vendor corporations to support defined escalation procedures
Customer Service
• Promote the highest level of customer service expectations throughout the health system by anticipating and responding to the health information technology needs of IT customers
• Develop partnerships with executives, faculty, and staff on ongoing customer and service delivery programs
Skills and Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare or a related field is required from an accredited college or university
• Master's degree from a college or university is preferred
Experience Required
•15+ years related business and management experience preferably in a healthcare or academic setting
• Experience implementing and managing a complex portfolio of applications within a global IT delivery organization including best practices for instance management, audit controls and interface management.
• Proven record of effectively communicating at all organizational levels, understanding the Institution’s business, missions and goals, and translating those goals into information technology initiatives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Staff development, team building and coaching experience
• Must have a high level of judgment, decision-making, discretion and integrity
• Excellent project management and vendor relation skills. Experience managing large programs and projects
• Experience managing and working knowledge of a variety of platforms and of system deployment in a heterogeneous environment with a clear vision of how to use information technology to improve productivity, performance and delivery of service
