Assume a critical role with the Prudential International Division’s Information Technology organization in supporting the International Insurance business units’ IT Leadership Teams in the delivery of secure, quality systems solutions and services to their respective customers.

Assist in evangelizing the long term Information Technology Strategy for the Division by articulating the vision of a target IT environment grounded in business value and built on sound architectural principles for facile adaptation and expansion in an evolving global operations model.
Support the multi-year implementation roadmap aligned with the IT Strategy and International Technology Standards and focused on leveraging the best available infrastructure, applications, services, best practices, and subject matter expertise across the Division.
Work closely with the Business Unit IT Leadership to ensure appropriate technological refreshment activities are executed within their businesses and enforce the adoption of high-risk corporate standards and policies by all business units. Review all significant technology initiatives against the IT Strategy and Standards to ensure success in support of business priorities.
Maintain oversight of the business technology teams to assure the successful delivery of large, complex, mission critical application development and integration projects. Encourage IT management’s consistent execution and oversight of a proven Systems Development Life Cycle methodology. Provide consistent reporting across the PII businesses to cover key technology initiatives, critical systems performance and ongoing financial results against budget.
Evangelize a more strategic approach to development projects for common business functions through the adoption of PII applications architecture, enterprise IT standards, and proven technology tools to provide more effective business solutions.
Maintain key relationships across corporate functions spanning the enterprise with emphasis on Technology Management to further explore the infrastructure and service leverage opportunities across the international businesses.
Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with key technology vendors that support the businesses with critical platforms, software and/or services.

Qualifications


Minimum of ten years information systems management experience with demonstrated success as an Information Technology Manager in the Insurance/Financial Services industry
Broad and deep experience in developing and implementing strategic and tactical systems plans with a successful track record of partnering with the business
Deep understanding of and direct responsibility for managing the technologies and applications required across the broad range of critical business functions inherent in the global insurance industry such as Product Development, Actuarial Systems, Illustrations, New Business, Policy Administration and Customer Service
Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience in the management of large applications development projects in hybrid systems environments; Ability to assess in-flight projects and make realistic recommendations that lead to measurable improvements and business risk mitigation is critical
Awareness and appreciation for information security tools and procedures
Strong vendor management skills with proven results in delivering business value at a fair and reasonable cost
Hands-on experience at the decision making level in the identification, analysis, selection, implementation and management of technology outsourcing efforts for both operational effectiveness and cost efficiency
Demonstrable commitment to project management disciplines, quality control, change management and leading edge technologies is essential
High energy, highly motivated, results oriented leader with ability to deal effectively within the technology management team of a multi-national company
Exceptional verbal and written capabilities are essential; Extensive communication across the businesses on behalf of the Division management team is required to foster improved technology organization dynamics
International Travel required (approximately 25% –mostly Latin America)
Prior experience in M&A activities would be desirable
Multi Language capability (Spanish and/or Portuguese) is a plus
