The Director, Member Outreach is responsible for establishing the process and protocols for member outreach across CFA Institute. This cross-functional role will serve as a pivotal position working closely with the Strategic Functions, Regions and Campaigns Group to define local and global best practices and cadence for renewal efforts, surveys, member awareness of content, personalization experience for members and other major initiatives across the organization. Communications to members will continue to be owned across the organization; this role will serve as the strategic lynchpin providing guidance on industry best practices and coordinating a high level view of our organizational efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitate the framework for member outreach best practices around the organization’s strategic direction.
Analyze and implement best practices for member outreach, including the analysis and strategy for opt-outs, data protection, list research, customized communications, communication open rates and click-throughs to enable CFA Institute to best serve its membership.
Responsible for sharing best practices on a regional and domicile basis adhering to local Data Protection laws. Provide global view of cross-functional member communications which is shared with Leadership Team. Collaborate on and communicate process and protocols for adding member touch points. Set and communicate goals for member opt-outs and data cleansing to assure most updated contact information is being used to reach members.
Partner with Society Relations globally to provide consultation and develop tools and templates that will aid societies in achieving member outreach best practices.
Act as the key business lead for the member communications personalization effort coming from the Digital Core Transformation initiative, working in conjunction with the DCT team, Member Value and regional teams to design and evolve the member experience.
Deliver member communication subject matter expertise and support in cross-collaboration on special projects throughout the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in communications or business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience a global subscription, membership or professional association environment, working across multiple regions required.
Experience working across multiple divisions and relying on external support through providers and freelancers.
Strong marketing communications analysis experience. Analytical and inquisitive mindset to find optimal solutions for reaching members across multiple channels.
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills including extensive experience of senior level stakeholder engagement, capable of influencing across a matrix organization with the ability to ‘push back’ and ‘manage up’.
Ability to collaborate with stakeholder at all levels and demonstrate influence without authority.
Strategic orientation and an informed understanding of the investment management industry and commercial business environment to support communication of the CFA Institute mission and vision through member communications.
Ability to prioritize and structure a high work load, identify key issues and work unsupervised to deadlines.
Global cultural orientation and working experience required
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel will be approximately 25% percent of the time
