Director Advance Solutions Analytics Honeywell Houston

The Director of Analytics for leading, managing and directing the analytics business related activities for the creation and growth of an analytics Center of Excellence (COE). This includes building and managing a team of analytics business development professionals and consultants, as well as working with the operations teams in the poles to ensure we are developing a sustainable project implementation services organization.

They will be directly responsible for the overall analytics growth strategy including business development staffing, working with marketing to define technology requirements, and M&A activities to fill gaps in portfolio. In this capacity, they will also work closely with the AS sales organization to ensure proper sales integration and also coordinate activities with the IIoT team to support analytics requirements. Further, they will also coordinate closely with the corporate data science team in the sharing of resources and providing input for the development of the corporate IIoT and analytics technology platform (Sentience).
This role will be measured on the profitable growth strategy of the analytics business. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the pole GMs to ensure the analytics strategy is fully aligned with the overall Advanced Solutions investment and development priorities.


Strategy & Planning

Integrate inputs to develop analytics growth plans with outstanding financial outcomes; Be competent in microeconomics, finance, VOC, research and analysis and basic sales & marketing toolkit [market definition and sizing, segmentation, value management, targeting and positioning, pricing]
Promote strong market orientation and strategy formulation and investment decisions
Own the analytics growth planning process including services model and technology requirements working with RD&E and ISC, Sales;
Develop and own the delivery of breakthrough strategies for step-change in growth.

Team Management

Grow and manage a team of analytics business development, consultants and project deployment specialists, providing leadership to build and manage their careers
Define and manage team goals & objectives
Work with poles to provide dotted line support to pole based analytics project technical resources


Business Development

Define clear selling value propositions for Sales and customers
Develop team of business development consultants
Drive towards a set target on orders and booked margin
Develop effective go to market channels & strategies for analytics business offerings


Customer Relationship Management

Link between analytics business line and customers. Ability to communicate the value of the offering in customer centric terms to cause customer to choose Honeywell offerings based on value delivered
Expand offering into new industry verticals
Active in the market in meeting with key customers to better understand industry needs and ensure product strategies are designed for profitable growth
Develop a team of Consultants able to effectively manage key customer relationships and create opportunities
Work closely with pole GMs and Customer Marketing leads to ensure product strategies and performance are meeting pole growth and AOP targets. Share and own the product AOP targets jointly with pole Customer Marketing organization, and manage overall business performance and reporting.
Strong VOC skill set and ability meaningful VOC driven to important implications and strategy development
Strong knowledge of how to drive value propositions into compelling customer pitches that result in customer orders

Services Management

Classic services management. Understand and manage product/services life cycles, profitability, demand planning , new product/services development ideation and process management, competitive offerings
Promote organization-wide innovation and cooperation in the development of new products and services
Direct and maintain competitive product/service portfolios that deliver more value than next best alternative; Model and lead innovation
Solid demonstration of innovating profitable business models and leading change as required
Use structured processes to manage financial results

Brand & Channel Management

Assist or contribute to the creation and building of brands; Assist in the brand management; Manage competitive brands
Is active in key conferences and external marketing activities to promote analytics space and be the face of the domain external to Honeywell
Consistently works with Marcom to effectively promote and advertise analytics business unit
Identify and develop any required channel strategy to support the business and penetration into adjacent verticals


Program & Project Management

Establish/maintain a project management framework in line with strategic objectives; Direct and control the delivery of programs and projects
Establish and promote the use of metrics to improve program effectiveness; Use structured processes to manage programs/projects

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in similar leadership role or in a Business Development/Product Marketing function.
Minimum of 8 years’ of demonstrated success in business ownership, business development, leading a dynamic team of people, and have good understanding of the emerging IT/OT business space.
Minimum of 8 years’ of demonstrated success in proven leadership, marketing, strategy, analytical and implementation skills.
An undergraduate degree in an analytical (e.g. economics, math, engineering, etc…) or technical discipline is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
An MBA is desirable (top-tier school preferred).
