This position supports key elements of the Sanofi North America (NA) Compliance program and reports to the Senior Director, Compliance. This position will serve as the Compliance Business Partner for Bio-surgery, Renal, Research & Development, Oncology and other business units that may be appropriate. This position will attend business unit leadership and other meetings (business unit as well as inter-departmental committee meetings) on behalf of the Compliance Department.

This position will also provide broad scale Compliance support to the business teams and work with all levels of the NA Compliance Department, members of the Legal Department, and other business functions and outside resources in the implementation of strategic and operational initiatives including aspects of the Company’s Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) and Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA). Candidate will provide training and knowledge updates pertaining to Federal health care program and FDA requirements and internal policies and procedures to business partners as required. This position will help evaluate areas of risk and provide guidance in the design and development of corrective and preventive controls.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide day-to-day compliance support for Bio-surgery, Renal, Oncology and/or other business units that may be appropriate
Provides compliance support and works to identify and mitigate risks in the Research and Development organization
Works collaboratively with members of the NA Compliance Department as well as other functional areas within the Company to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to satisfy the requirements of the Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) and Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA)
Provide support for all aspects of a Compliance Program, including development and launch of training, participate in monitoring and remediation of issues identified, assist in auditing, Helpline and other compliance elements
Coordinates with Legal Department and other functional areas to enhance policies and systems controls as needed
Provide Compliance support to identify and mitigate areas of risk
Satisfy regulatory Compliance requirements and implement industry best practices related to the terms and conditions of the CIA in connection with business units activities within scope
Notifying the NA Compliance Officer and other members of senior management of Compliance issues
Serve as representative of NA Compliance Department on select functional committees


Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctorate degree required.
10-15 years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech compliance experience required or 10-15 years of experience in highly regulated industry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong Compliance background and clear understanding of elements of an effective ethics and compliance program
Experience working in a complex, matrix organization
Strong project management, training and planning skills required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with risk assessment and risk management
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, exercise independent judgment and demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams with all levels of management and other company personnel
Must be able to travel up to 20%
