Sr Director Accounting CA Technologies New York

In this role, you’ll help support CA Technologies charter to transform the IT industry by:
Implementing new accounting and reporting regulations and guidance (including revenue recognition)
Ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including research and documentation of complex accounting and reporting issues (including purchase accounting for acquisitions)
Involvement with preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and SEC filings

Overseeing a timely and efficient worldwide monthly and quarterly close
Assisting in managing the relationship with the Company’s external auditors in the quarterly review and annual audit of the financial statements
Assisting in managing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance including developing, establishing, implementing and maintaining requisite controls and procedures to support the financial system and operational processes
Partnering with tax, treasury, legal, HR, SOX compliance, business development and financial planning and analysis teams on accounting matters
Evaluating current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement
Working on special accounting and finance projects at the request of senior management

She/he will have an outstanding track record and reputation for being a proactive, critical thinker with strong presentation skills. An ideal background will include:

Typically 10 or more years of accounting/finance experience with at least 5 years of management experience. Big 4 public accounting and/or public company accounting experience preferred.
Must have strong experience interfacing, presenting, and communicating with the C suite and BOD.
Strong project experience in acquisition accounting, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and evolving policies and procedures is expected.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP, SEC and related financial reporting regulations.
Organizational and time management skills in managing multiple, diverse and conflicting priorities.
An ability to successfully perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, focusing on Microsoft Excel.
Proven ability to develop and lead an organization.
Business travel of approximately 10 or less percent yearly is expected for this position.
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Accounting. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
Certifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
