As the Executive Director, Credit Risk, Funds, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Funds related clients and transactions.
The role sits within the broader IB&M Risk Management team and acts as a trusted adviser to the business, providing advice on risk issues across the IB&M Funds portfolio, particularly in the North American Market.

You will be responsible for the credit risk management activities for clients in the Funds segment currently managed within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG). Funds include conventional fund managers, direct investors, financial sponsors and hedge funds.

On occasion and as capacity allows you may be required to assist in the credit risk management activities for other New York based clients.

Your Impact

The role has been created to support the FIG business global growth objectives, related primarily to Subscription Credit and Asset Backed facilities to the international Funds Market (Funds Finance).

You will significantly influence and shape the profile (size, tenor and distribution) of the FIG Funds portfolio and you will actively manage the portfolio to optimise risk / return outcomes.

The role is accountable for and required to actively manage a significant portfolio of risk. You will ensure both individual and portfolio risks are managed within strategic business guidelines and organisational risk appetite.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the further development of the Funds' business in originating and executing Subscription Credit Facilities, Asset Backed Facilities and associated risk management facilities.

You will monitor and assess market developments and trends in the Funds sector and Funds Finance in particular, including regulatory, legal and economic developments.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of Funds clients and Fund Finance activity, including periodic credit and rating reviews, compliance reviews, exposure monitoring and breach reporting.

Furthermore, you will provide structuring advice, analyse, prepare, review and credit decision (up to a designated credit authority) proposals originating from the FIG Client Coverage team and IB&M generally.

You will play a pivotal role in enhancing policies and systems and contribute to the development of models to improve the Bank's competitive position.

Your ability to build relationships and connections will be key, as you will liaise with IB&M, Risk leadership teams, and internal and external auditors.

Your skills

In order to see your success for this role, you will demonstrate a track record of providing risk management support to the origination, structuring and execution of Funds related credit facilities, including Funds Finance.

You will have strong networks of FIG and Fund Finance market relationships, with a proven ability in developing strong internal networks of effective business relationships across relationship, product and other business units.

You will have demonstrated influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to work in a busy, commercial, competitive environment and the ability to meet objectives / targets and deliver high levels of customer service.

You will have the ability to prioritise and remain focused whilst dealing with an ever shifting set of priorities. You will be adaptable with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

You will have at least 7 years' experience in a risk position dealing with FI credit risk including Funds Finance and a Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in a finance related discipline.
