Manage the Web & ECM Systems team to provide exceptional operational support for Gartner’s most critical client facing and internal computer systems, including Gartner.com, Analyst Scheduling, and Enterprise Content Management.

Manage implementation and operation of Gartner’s middleware systems in support of various internal and client-facing computer systems. Ensure these systems are configured and tuned for maximum performance and uptime. Create and maintain documentation of these systems for ongoing supportability.
Collaborate with appropriate IT departments, business units and service providers to collect and monitor performance and availability metrics ensuring proper notifications, alerts, and escalations are in place when anomalies are detected.
Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and administration of new middleware tools, services, and capabilities, and the advancement of current ones.
Mentor and train both junior and senior staff. Manage project prioritization and assignments for team as well as department budget

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
8 or more years of information technology experience, at least 5 of them in a Middleware Operations role with increasing levels of scope and responsibility.
Proven track record of building, leading, managing and mentoring high performing teams in a 24/7 operational setting.
Authoritative knowledge of middleware platforms (i.e. Weblogic, Websphere, Tomcat, Apache, etc.) Operations and Internals
Authoritative knowledge of architecture design, capacity planning, performance tuning, back-up and recovery, and 24/7 operational support, in a large-scale enterprise environment with high availability
Strong Unix skills and experience on multiple platforms (Solaris / HP-UX / Linux)
Strong Windows Server skills and experience.
Strong server-side scripting skills (i.e. Python, Jython, shell, Groovy, etc)
Strong skills in application clustering.
Experience in packaged ERP applications (i.e. Oracle EBS, Siebel, Alfresco, etc) is desired
Experience with enterprise management and monitoring tools (i.e. OEM, TCat) is desired
