Candidate will own the vision and responsibility of providing best-in-class user experiences for the NBA's global apps, websites and premium subscription services. Candidate will ensure that every digital touch point provides a seamless, intuitive experience that is consistent with the NBA brand. Major Responsibilities:

Lead design initiatives on mobile, connected platforms and the NBA subscription business, NBA LEAGUE PASS, while doing some of the design themselves and providing oversight/direction to other agencies and/or designers
Collaborate with developers, product owners, marketing, and content managers to define product experience and champion the user
Drive and document design standards and patterns across products
Enthusiastically participate in product reviews and lead feedback discussions
Demonstrable understanding of responsive design, mobile interfaces, and UX design
Able to balance business requirements, marketing and analytics with design aesthetic
Be a vibrant and engaging communicator that can present concepts and ideas to all levels of the company
Collaborate with designers and UX gurus at major platforms on continual improvement and innovation for NBA products
Conduct research with key stakeholders to review and validate approach and methodology (including, but not limited to interviews, usability tests, surveys, and A/B tests).
Act as "go to" with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards
Research and share industry trends, competitors, and comparable experiences

Required Experience & Knowledge:

At least 10 years of experience designing for any or all of the following: highly trafficked content-driven websites and/or native apps, subscription services with a focus on conversion or large scale video-centric experiences across multiple devices
Ability to manage multiple projects and an ability to prioritize and organize to meet tasks and deadlines
Knowledge of interaction architecture practices in UX and the ability to take wireframes through to well executed visual designs with supporting annotations
Demonstrable understanding of the publishing, tech, and social media landscape
Knowledge about trends and innovations in experience design, technology, development, visual design, art, communications design and product design
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative suite, Omnigraffle, Axure, Invision, Pixate, or equivalent programs and technologies
Experience sketching, concept creation and wireframing, producing sitemaps and user flows, with tap able/clickable prototypes
Experience with product and staff management
Knowledge all various platforms human interface guidelines: iOS, Android, and connected platforms
Agency experience is also a plus

Educational Background Required:

BA/BS in relevant field
Relevant certifications in visual design, project management and human device interaction is a plus
