The Director, Restaurant Technology Solutions provides leadership to the teams and suppliers responsible for the McDonald’s global Point-of-Sale (POS), Production and Kiosk software solutions. These key products are running in over 30,000 restaurants across 100+ markets worldwide. This person serves as the connection point with key restaurant technology stakeholders globally, including segment, market, IT, Digital and supplier leadership. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills that foster a collaborative and continuous improvement environment across the stakeholder community.

• Development of POS and Kiosk software solutions and related technology components to drive business results across the McDonald’s system by delivering quality products on time within budget
• Definition, communication and implementation of strategic change across the product suite requiring participation from multiple teams across the enterprise, with a focus on quality and time to market
• Leader of governing body responsible for setting product strategy for restaurant technology development and evolution
• Leader/facilitator/key participant in other governing boards and task forces
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of retail technology, including deep understanding of trends, best practices and emerging architecture for point of sale and kiosk systems
• Providing direction to a team of 15 as well as management of suppliers across multiple products
• Development of multi-year product road maps and budgets and ongoing financial management for several initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field with relevant software development experience
• 10 years Sr. leadership/ Sr. Management of software development initiatives in a large, complex enterprise environments to lead teams through changing priorities and aggressive delivery dates
• 6 or more years of communication management (keeping all parties updated from top to bottom), financial management (managing a budget of 5 million or more), change management, vendor management and risk and issue management
• Demonstrated experience assessing organizational structures and SDLC processes and implement needed change quickly and efficiently
• Demonstrated experience in developing strategies for evolving both our technology solutions and our organizations, and implementing those strategies
Desired Skills:
• Quick-service restaurant industry experience
• Hands-on development/coding experience
• PMP certification
• Strong leadership skills with ability to influence stakeholders across the organization, especially during periods of change
• Solid understanding of the dependencies between software, hardware and operating systems
