Director Global Business Development Baxter Deerfield

• Leads entire business development process for select Medical/Renal Products business development initiatives (M&A, licensing, distribution, JV’s, etc.) including negotiations and presentations to senior management.
o The business development process includes identification, evaluation, negotiations, due diligence and implementation/execution.
o Leadership of initiatives includes cross functional coordination /being the face of Baxter to senior leaders of current/potential partners-targets.
• Provides input into corporate strategic planning/pipeline processes.

• Directs annual strategic planning activities for franchises ensuring corporate guidelines/ schedules are met.
• Guides businesses/regions in their environmental assessments and development/review of their long-term strategies.
• Prepares franchises for strategic reviews with Baxter senior management/communication of franchise strategies.
• Guides franchises/regions through an in-depth analysis of key strategic issues.
• Directs the review/prioritization of R&D investments
• Facilitates business development related competitive intelligence activities.
• Provides strategic link with franchise/region business development
• Indirectly leads a highly talented team to drive successful integration of objectives. Coaches and develops Sr. Managers/Managers.

Qualifications

Requirements

• 10+ solid years of healthcare (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or Biotech) business experience and 5+ years of management experience.
• General business knowledge/ in-depth knowledge in one or more of following needed to guide strategies development: finance, sales and marketing, operations, or technology.
• Solid business acumen /knowledge of external healthcare business environment - understanding of competitive history/ability to forecast next moves.
• Solid quantitative/qualitative assessment skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to constructively challenge ideas and assumptions.
• Requires strategic orientation/ability to help translate ideas into business strategies
• Solid/demonstrated negotiation skills
• Strong leadership skills/ability to facilitate/manage in a matrix environment
• Solid process management skills
• Strong influencing skills/ability to work in a highly matrixed, consensus-driven organization.
• Strong communications/presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree and Master's degree required in business, marketing, finance or science/technology. JD accepted as well.
