Issues Management strategy
Ownership of issue analytic process
Owner of crisis communication process and playbook
Co-creator of corporate positions on key issues
Director of media monitoring and social media coverage for potential issues
Key media contact for crises and War Room lead
Scenario planning and training
Participation in/review of communications regarding company and/or employee lawsuits
Participation in decisions relating to product and environmental issues
Review and risk assessment for products and services
Cross-functional Issues Council Chair
Legal and Corporate Affairs coordination
Organization Management Responsibility
Lead and coordinate with Corporate Affairs and agencies, and other NWNA functions including legal, regulatory, government relations, marketing, sales, supply chain, etc.
Qualifications
Key qualifications for this position include but are not limited to:
Crisis and Issues management expertise preferably in consumer goods; experience in key NWNA geographies a plus (California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, Michigan)
Strong experience in issue identification and proactive management across sectors and audiences, including War Room leadership
Ability to develop and maintain clear understanding of competitive landscape and marketplace dynamics to inform Corporate positioning and reputation protection
Experience as Corporate spokesperson in challenging scenarios.
Exceptional writer and inspiring communicator
Deep understanding of media landscape and stakeholder and influencer dynamics, and drivers of reputational risk
Specific experience successfully engaging with NGOs, community leaders
Litigation and labor relations communication experience
Experience analyzing research and Big Data to generate meaningful, action‐oriented insights
Community Stakeholder engagement experience especially in contentious situations on emotional issues
Experience providing direction on social integration providing direction on social integration and internal and external social media strategies and channels
Scenario planning and communications training
Political campaign and Agency experience a Plus
Experience in a matrixed organization preferable
College degree (BS or BA minimum) masters a plus
