Cloud Operations Director CGI Annapolis

The Cloud Operations Manager provides oversight to a diverse group of cloud support engineers, system and network administrators. The incumbent provides business and client facing operations, and engages peers for supporting efforts in a matrixes organization. Provides direct management over the Cloud System and Network Operations staff. Daily activities include scheduling resources, troubleshooting and incident resolution, evaluate contractual agreements for service requirements, manage budget, and support business development activities.

This position provides guidance and support for a highly technical pool of resources, and requires knowledge unique to the cloud environment, including server and network virtualization, physical infrastructure, network and security operations center activities, data storage, and disaster recovery. The Cloud Operations Manager will be responsible for their staffing and budget assessments.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with peers as a member of the team in matrix organization
• Provide and track daily activities
• Participate or lead briefings to executive staff
• Analyze, research, track, and report system concerns, identify business impacts and make recommendations related to daily business operations within the cloud team
• Develop, refine and execute Standard Operating Procedures, workbooks, and Tactic, Techniques, and Procedures for repeatable
• Maintain client confidence and keep information confidential
• Use PMI project management tools for project analysis
• Identify, escalate and communicate issues in a timely manner
• On-board, mentor, and train new team members, lead, couch, and develop assigned team members
• Evaluate and refine operations process documentation, system operating procedures, and training materials required to help team provide exceptional user support.
• Understand the underlying principles, processes, enabling tools and technologies for systems management, network management, and security management
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree. (Or experience equivalent)
• Minimum of 10 years related work experience
• Minimum of 5 year history of increasing management responsibility
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in cloud operations
• Ability to take ownership and accountability of assignments, build and share knowledge, work independently, and collaborate with business partners, clients, other contractors, and end users
• Excellent customer service and people skills
Excellent computer troubleshooting skills
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication and relationship building skills
• Proactive, hands-on, and self-motivated, committed to achieving deadlines, meeting and producing results
• Proven ability to produce quality deliverables within aggressive timelines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
• Understanding of financial and contractual management processes
• Experience working on large integrated project teams following structured methodologies for project management, business process transformation, and organizational change management
• Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, clients, contractors, subject matter experts, and end users
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, SharePoint, and Project
• Must be able to successfully pass/complete a CGI background check to start employment
• Must be able to work in the U.S. for an indefinite period of time
• Must be capable of achieving a DOD Secret clearance as a condition of continued employment
Desired:
Experience engineering and operating within Azure, Amazon Web Services, and VMWare and Open Stack environments
PMP, ITIL, CMMI, Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
Due to the nature of the Government contract, US Citizenship and the ability to hold a clearance is required
