Sr. Director Global Transportation Compliance Under Armour Baltimore

Under Armour is looking for a leader of Global Transportation and Trade Compliance to drive Under Armour to new heights in operational and business performance. This position will own the flow of product from port to door for North America and from port to port for our growing international markets. This is a critical role in the supply chain with responsibility for trade compliance/controls, global rate negotiations, carrier/partner relationships and optimizing cost and service to our customers. To be successful, this leader will be required to work as part of a matrixed team to drive consensus building, manage projects and lead a high powered team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:



Ability to navigate the global network for effectively moving product from our factories to our consumers
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Responsible for management of Ocean/Air Carrier performance:
Carrier selection, rate negotiations and relationship management
Key Performance Indicator development; driving toward global dashboards and visibility
Drive cost and service opportunities while effectively balancing both.
Trade Compliance:
Ensure Under Armour establishes and monitors world class controls
Support Duty optimization activities: Free Trade Agreements; First Sale; Multi-Country Sourcing
Ensure the free flow of goods through the logistics network
Key thought leader in implementation of SAP Transportation Management and Global Trade Solutions
Drive Global alignment regarding:
Metrics/KPIs
Best practices and process standardization
Support market expansion/new market entry
Lead Direct Ship (to Customer from Factory) capability enhancement


Education/Experience/Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or similar field, MBA preferred. 15-25+ years of transportation, logistics, trade compliance experience in an established wholesale and/or retail environment –apparel or sporting goods experience preferred. Experience with multiple modes of transportation supporting a global business. Experience with advanced planning systems, preferably experience using SAP, Manhattan Associates, JDA or other planning systems.

APICS or other Supply Chain organization experience is desired
