We are looking for a Director of Design to guide the evolution of our brand, personality, and design patterns. The Director of Design will help define the information architecture of these products as they relate to other products and services in the Dynamics 365 suite. The Director of Design collaborates with a multidisciplinary design team to ensure brand alignment. The Director of Design shapes all phases of creative development including conceptual development, branding, visual design, and motion design while possessing reasonable depth and expertise in content development, user experience, and technical implementation.
Watch: Career Advice The ideal candidate will have served as a Creative Director in a digital agency or business applications space, worked on both in-product (mobile apps, websites, etc.) and outbound marketing (digital ads, emails, etc.) projects. The candidate is an experienced design leader with a passion for shipping products. They will have demonstrated strength delivering through all stages of product development from initial ideation to shipping and supporting multiple product versions.
The Director of Design will be responsible for evolving the design of the Dynamics 365 personality and brand. And they will be responsible for researching, creating, developing, refining, and documenting innovative and compelling experience solutions that meet the business, project, and design goals and objectives. They will work closely with marketers, interaction designers, design researchers, program managers, and engineers in a highly collaborative environment. The position requires the need to be organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Passion for our customers and for consumers who want great user experiences is highly desired.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in design leadership for high-quality enterprise business applications products for high-volume global markets within a team environment
• A hands-on approach to design leadership
• Strong persuasion, communication, and presentation skills
• A portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity in related fields
• Strong interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills
• In addition to visual design strengths, hands-on experience in a secondary field such as motion design, interaction design, front end software engineering, or human factors is highly desired
• Proficiency in digital design tools
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Education requirements include either an MA/MS in graphic design, visual communication design, interaction design, or highly related field, OR a BA/BS in graphic design or interaction design with significant industry experience.
